A California man who initially claimed to a local television station that he was roughed up by "SWAT team" members who allegedly battered down his front door to execute a search warrant related to his estranged wife's unpaid student loans was targeted due to an ongoing probe into alleged financial aid fraud.
Local law enforcement officials have thus far not commented on the Stockton man's claim to ABC News 10/KXTV that he was grabbed by the neck and placed in handcuffs in back of a patrol car for six hours as his three children looked on during execution of the search warrant on Tuesday.

It did sound a bit fishy when he said “All I want is an apology”. ;-)
I didn’t keep count but I think the majority of people on that thread seemed more PO’d that it was the Dept. of Education that conducted the raid rather than the fact it was over student loans. And that still seems to be the case.
There was no SWAT team genius, even the pathetic lying piece of criminal scum said “it was LIKE a SWAT team.”
The libertines simply took the side of the criminal before anything was verified.
As for what was seized, go look at the inventory sheet at the court house, it was public record. As for an arrest, in many cases, the person is not arrested on the spot. Instead, the evidence is collected and then arrest warrants are drawn at a later date.
The simple fact here is that the officers had a warrant, just as the Constitution requires. You just don’t like the fact that the Fourth Amendment doesn’t read “No searches of anyone ever.”
Maybe it was because the DoE was involved?

Maybe it was because the idea of using a SWAT team to serve a warrant for financial aid records and applications for admission to colleges seems a bit EXTREME!?!?!?!?!?
This wasn’t a hostage crisis, nor was it likely anyone was going to flush a computer down the drain.
SWAT teams should be used when there is good reason to believe the occupant will try to kill a police officer who shows up at his door with a warrant. And frankly, the idea that ANY warrant that doesn’t have an individual’s name on it justifies a SWAT team seems a bit odd to me.
Because it was eminently believable in light of police behavior over the last decade or so, that's why.

Couldn’t they just get a team of “Forensic Accountants” and and technical analysts to serve the warrant with a knock?
There WAS NO SWAT TEAM. The media has already retracted that story. Even the lying criminal scum qualified his words in that regard.

Even the media is now reporting that there was no SWAT team at all.

In today's world the overwhelming use of force is all too realistic. We're seeing it everywhere, so why shouldn't we be suspicious.
Sham on the suckers that are buying into the DOE vague claims and innuendo. The neighbor has verified the guys story about being dragged out - and said she saw the cops were there for four hours, which makes his claim that he was held for a long time credible.
This guy isn't acting like he has anything to hide. The DOE, though, is in sleazy CYA prosecution mode, making character slurs and trying to make it seem like this schmuck was Al Capone.
He complained to the local authorities, he took his story to the press, he hasn't been arrested or charged. The DOE and the bootlicker apologists are looking like the scummy dirt bags so far.
There was no SWAT Team. It was OIG for the DOE.
Or maybe it was because SWAT teams have a history that makes the accusation credible?

Maybe YOU forgot about the continuing story of folks getting killed by over-force STUPID police action. Goes back at least to Waco.
We know unpayble, non-extinguishable student loan debt is a BIG problem and the Feds have both encouraged it’s kudzu like growth and taken over “servicing” of much of it.
We know that for strange reasons the Federal Department of EDUCATION has added SWAT forces. WTF with that, hey?
WE just put two and two together. If this wasn’t the case here—and THAT’s still not clear to me—it seems almost certain to be the case soon enough.

I need more information in order to decide who is the lying piece of filth.
1. Why is a SWAT team being used, even if it was for financial aid fraud as they so stated?
2. Why did SWAT go into a nonviolent, non-hostage situation with guns drawn while there were children in the home?
3. If their intel was so rock-solid, why after 6 hours in a police car with his children, did they release the man without arrest?
See, I really don’t care what kind of “fraud” was perpetrated: not paying student loans, lying on your application, etc. The use of SWAT here (as well as with the murdered Marine in AZ) is psychological warfare against the people of this country by its government. This was a non-violent crime and should have been responded to in a non-violent manner.
They are conditioning us to accept the use of SWAT/violent forced entry as routine and expected.
