This headline, like so many others, is devised to demoralize the pride and farward-looking enthusiasm of Conservative Americans and what we hold to be valuable to our way of life and the way in which we see ourselves.
When the liberal media speak of “the end of an era”, they’re really hoping it will be the end of us. They want to depress and demoralize our spirit, so they’ll keep on kicking as hard as they can.
It won’t work. We won’t let it.
We’ve been talking about buying a truck BECAUSE of the Empty One. We all know he’s going to make it hard in the future to buy one, so better get them now.
I saw a new Volkswagen pickup in traffic last week - it appeared to be about the size of the Ranger. It was a real pickup, too - not an "El Camino" version of the Golf (like the '80s Rabbit "pickup"). It had a "TDI" badge on the tailgate, so it probably will have mpg bragging rights in that market segment. Ford just may be forced to give its recent F100 concept a second look.
Voila! No more time or inclination for wars.
vaudine
Not in Texas.
And we'll need really big trucks to haul the corruption out of DC.
If we get Palin or Perry, those gas prices will drop and pickups will be in demand again.
Bring back the 1954 Ford or 1958 Chevy pickup. No AC or auto trans garbage. I, at least, would be happy. These huge tanks are not a working man’s truck but drugstore cowboy.
I just got finished washing and waxing my brand new Ford F150 Platinum. I am very pleased with my purchase two weeks ago. This is a bogus prediction. I can’t live without a pickup truck. It can saves you money in so many ways if you use it.
Nissan brought out their Titan at exactly the wrong time.
I have 4 different types of trucks but the one I drive to work is a 2002 Silverado 3500 Extended cab dually 4x4 with the 8.1L Vortec engine, thats 496 cubic inches of fuel injected big block, the engine was so good at what it did that the libs banded together and decided it was too good to be sold in anything less than a 2 ton chassis or as a marine engine, which is what it was originally designed for.
So I think 2003 was the last year you could get the 8.1 engine, now you have to get the diesel or a smaller gas motor.
The engine has tons of power and only shows its thirstiness when I stomp on the throttle, but with a change in driving habits and the use of cruise control a lot its manageable for the most part for short commutes. But I could never afford to fuel it if I had to have a 100 mile RT commute.
HAAAAA! I drive a Dodge diesel 3500 dually extended cab 4x4 with a huge cattle bumper. It weighs 8000lbs! It has a Smarty chip, 4” exhaust, Huge free flowing intake and Bully Dog fuel pumps. It gets 20mpg on the interstate on the economy setting, which is where I usually leave it. This will be my last truck until I die or wreck it, in which case I will get another one just like it. LOVE that truck!
I’d suggest that GM Blazer got things kicked off back in the early 70’s.
Wow! You saw a gray-market Euro model or a prototype if it was new. Even the new VW Amarok is pretty big.
The gov’t hates and fights daily the pursuit of self-sufficiency and personal initiative.
“I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck
With a pink carnation and a Chevy Volt”
Nope...doesn’t work.
Loved that Chevy 3/4 ton with the bench seat. Lots of fun with my high school girlfriend. Heck, she was fun without the pickup.
America will ride into a shinning future in a pickup truck.
Volt pickup truck?
Just has to be re-worded:
“I was a lonely teenage broncin dolt
With a pink carnation and a Chevy Volt”
“Id suggest that GM Blazer got things kicked off back in the early 70s.”
Ah....... Ford Bronco in 1965. Eventually evolved into today’s Explorer. My last early bronco, in fact, was the Explorer/Sport package....They could make em right back then.........I’m Driving my ‘97 F-150 til I die......
