When Rep. Peter King (R-NY) called a hearing on Muslim radicalism, he probably didn’t expect Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) to turn the spotlight on “Christian militants.”
But that’s exactly what she did Wednesday.
Jackson Lee noted that one witness who wrote a letter to the committee about the dangers of radical Islam in prisons had been arrested for bombing an abortion clinic.
“Are you familiar with the Christian militants?” she asked former New York Dept. of Correctional Services official Patrick Dunleavy. “Can one might say that they might possibly want to undermine this country because right now the right for women to choose is a Constitutional right but people disagree with it but here is an individual trying to undermine the protections that are given to women? Would you suggest that might be compared to trying to undermine this country? That’s a possibility, is it not?”
“Well, I think that anyone that goes about killing in the name of God is an ideologue,” Dunleavy admitted.
The Christians might preach me to death, while the Muslims would just behead me. Maybe the Muslims are more merciful! :)

They've gerrymandered her distric so badly that we'll never get her out. In some sections her district is only as wide as the street.
Also, if you ever have extra time on your hands, go look at the numbers that get her elected. It's the people that vote a straight democrat ticket instead of voting for each particular election.

This transplant New Yorker has a very IGNORANT constituency base. There was actually a conservative black man who ran against her this past election cycle, but he barely registered any votes.
I can tell you a story about Rep Jackson...
She and her entourage and a state representative (also black and very liberal) showed up at my sister’s bank office last year. Rep Jackson had an appt with the bank’s attorney (who my sister worked for) in charge of business bankruptcies.
Rep Jackson seemed to think her “weight” of office and outright asking for special considerations would convince this attorney to give a particular black business man another chance with his business and stop the take-over proceedings against this man who was in significant financial distress and had defaulted on several loans.
The bank attorney asked Rep Jackson if she was asking him to ignore federal law for this favor. Because what she was asking him to do would have been against federal regulations.
Rep Jackson realizing she had “stepped in it” tried to crawfish out of her statement. Coming to the realization this attorney wasn’t going to help her friend she got up and left in a huff.
It didn’t have “WE BE” in the sentence, so she is getting better.
My daughter lives in Spring and has Poe for her Congressman. He seems like a pretty good guy. It is pretty strange how close that district is to TX18 and how different the people representing them are.

Which Constitution is she talking about? I don't remember an unalienable right to "premeditated murder". Therefore, there cannot be anything in the former U.S. Constitution that protects it since the former Constitution doesn't grant any rights at all!
Even among the later Amendments, that granted a few privileges, I see nothing about taking a human life.
It is truly shameful that Ms. Jackson Lee’s mother didn’t exercise her choice.... but I digress...
I've seen her district. It is unreal. I have a feeling Lord Dog Nuts may not be returning to congress after the next election. The pubs cut Travis county into five different districts.
