Group Seeks to Halt Deportation of Mexicans via Texas, New Mexico
Fox Latino ^ | June 15, 2011

Posted on 06/15/2011 5:41:22 PM PDT by La Lydia

The humanitarian group No More Deaths has begun a campaign to halt the deportation of 21 undocumented Mexican immigrants across the Texas and New Mexico borders arguing that they could fall into the hands of the drug cartels that dominate parts of northern Mexico. The organization said it had received four letters signed by 21 people who are being held at the detention center in Torrance, New Mexico, after they were apprehended crossing the Arizona desert illegally.

The undocumented migrants expressed the fear that they might be kidnapped or murdered if they are deported into the Mexican border states of Chihuahua, Coahuila or Tamaulipas, where - they said - organized crime is more powerful than the authorities.

Chihuahua, one of Mexico's 31 states, accounted for nearly a third of the country's more than 15,000 gangland-related murders last year, while hundreds of slain migrants have been found in mass graves in Tamaulipas.

No More Deaths said in a press release that the group's fear is justified because migrants are frequently the targets of extortion, violence, kidnapping and death threats in the region in question. As part of its campaign, No More Deaths is asking people to contact the office of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Immigration and Customs Enforcement asking them to halt deportations over the Texas and New Mexico borders.

According to the group, the United States is repatriating an average of 1,000 undocumented immigrants to Mexico each day, something that has resulted in a unique situation of immigrant exploitation that fuels the cartels....

I am ashamed to report that "No More Deaths" is a joint effort of the Tucson Catholic Church and the Unitarians. http://nomoredeaths.org/

Well, I figure Obama will be getting NATO to begin military operations against Mexico any day now! Don't worry, it will only "...be days, not months..." and he doesn't need Congressional authority!

Don't complain nor question him! DANG IT! He is trying to save LIVES!

I actually agree with this group, sort of.

I do not want the invaders deported a mere fifty yards across the border, where they can be back in the U.S. in an hour or less.

I want them sent to Mexico’s furthest souther border!
Make their trip back to the U.S. as long and expensive as possible.

As to their becoming the victims of their own criminal element, tough!
They created the thugs in their efforts to invade our country, let them break up the gangs if they can.

I have zero sympathy for the invaders and their enablers.

Ask them which part of Mexico they want to be deported to.

Actually, the concerns of the illegal aliens are genuine and reasonable. Being “thrown back across the border” could very well be deadly. It’s a war zone.

But that being said, Arizona has long had a very satisfactory solution to this problem. It will *fly*, free of charge, any illegal alien who wishes to voluntarily repatriate to Mexico, from Sky Harbor in Phoenix one way to Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City.

Doing so is very cost effective. For say a $30,000 fee to rent the plane, Arizona can send back hundreds of illegal aliens 1,365 miles away. The odds of them going back to the border are minimal. As a group rate, that is probably even cheaper than “throwing them across the border.”

What’s not to like? It’s a LOT safer for them, cheap for us, and is a lasting solution.

So does the plane actually land in Mexico, or...

All illegal aliens should be deported by plane to the capitol city of their country of origin, or the airport in their country that is farthest from the U.S. border. Made it an arduous journey if they want to try it again. And if they’re caught a 2nd time they get dropped off at 12,000 feet above the airspace of their home country. Parachutes can be purchased (cash only) for the reasonable sum of $1500.

All the US has to do is enforce the laws regarding illegals; no job, no welfare, emergency medical only, no schooling, no tuition assistance, no drivers license, no anything. They’ll leave willingly and pay their own way home.

It is such a sweet deal as far as AZ is concerned, that they probably give them bag lunches and coupons for the D.F. Taco Bell (yes, there is one. Mexicans like it, too, because it doesn’t taste anything like Mexican food, either.)

Another plus is because it is “voluntary repatriation”, there is *no* federal involvement! That alone makes it worthwhile.

Obama’s father got deported.

What makes these Mexican illegal aliens any more worthy of staying in the United States than the resident’s own African father?

I agree, why just Texas and landlocked states? Why not deport some of these people from Key West - point them South and say, in Espanol of course, “start swimming.”

Such a simple solution. Unfortunately, the braindeads in Washington don’t have a clue.

Deport them via Cuba or Venezuela and let them either swim home or walk back to Mexico.
