Rich Lowery just nailed it, saying that everything Weiner has said and done has been aimed at one goal: preserving his political career. From the initial lying to todays self-serving statement, it’s all about getting this behind him so he can pick up where he left off. Agreed. Tough crowd all over. I wonder how they'd match up to the crowd in the Bible who dragged the adulterous woman to Jesus and wanted her condemned?
Perfect answer there as here: whoever is without sin or fault, let him be the first one to condemn this guy.
Do I think he should be an official? No, I don't think so at this point. Do I think he should be summarily condemned? No. Easy for those on the sidelines to do that.
