MMM—seems to be stuck at 76%. I guess they’re afraid for it to go higher
;-)
While we’re at it, voting materials need to be in ENGLISH period. You have to be a citizen to vote and a requirement to be a citizen is understanding the English language. End of debate.
Do you agree with Sen. Harris that speaking Spanish during a committee hearing is ‘insulting’?
Yes, if the person testifying knows English...then he or she should speak in English. 76%
No, the person testifying should be able to speak in whatever language they want. 22%
I’m not sure. 2%
Sometimes they just make it disappear if they don’t like the result.

A working knowledge of English is required to become a U.S. citizen, but is not required to immigrate to the country. It’s an important distinction, because more immigrants choose to become permanent residents than citizens.
A distinction that needs to be eradicated!
Speak English or stay out until you learn.
At this point we are so overwhelmed by illegals that I would cease allowing ANY immigration for at least twenty years, a complete moratorium until we get control of the invaders.
Thinking about it some more, there needs to be a limit on how long “immigrants” can remain here without going through the whole citizenship process.
I would give them no more than three years, if they have not become a naturalized citizen by then, BYE-BYE!
The entire idea of “Permanent resident alien” is an insult to our society.
If they do not intend to become citizens who share our culture, they are just foreign agents we do not need or want.
Well under current law, you have to be a permanent resident for five years before you can even apply for citizenship. Personally, that makes more sense than your suggestion to get it done in less than three.
The current standard is NOT working.
Time for revisions that greatly reduce the influx from ALL sources.
I say three years is plenty, decide to become a full fledged American or GET OUT.
I’m ready to shut the door completely, sick of being asked what language I want my services in, waiting while some one is found to speak their language at the bank, grocery store, etc.
Then when you see them outside, they are laughing and joking IN ENGLISH over having inconvenienced the clerk and customers (or court).
Sorry man, it’s not going to happen.
