Hollywood star Angelina Jolie travelled to meet some of the thousands of Syrian refugees on the country's border with Turkey.
The actress and goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), shared fruit and dessert with Syrians who have fled the government's bloody crackdown.
Flying in on a private jet, she took boxes of toys for children at a camp in Turkey to which which nearly 10,000 have fled.
Jolie spent two-and-a-half hours at camp in Altinozu, 12 miles (20km) away from the Syrian border.
She reportedly asked them how they were in Arabic, before speaking with them through an interpreter.
Reports also said she took notes and showed particular interest in the women and children.
"The people in this camp have fled in fear for their lives, and many told me they were distraught about the safety of loved ones still in Syria," Jolie said in a UNHCR statement.
She met with one woman who left Syria heavily pregnant, and has since given birth to her child in the camp.
The woman told how her husband had been killed. Another woman told Jolie how she was sick with worry about her husband who was still in Syria and unable to cross the border.
"The woman claimed her husband was one of many, too afraid to cross," Jolie added.
The Changeling star also praised Turkey for taking in the refugees, saying it is critical in these situations people have somewhere safe to go.
A mob of children chanted "look who is here", and "welcome, welcome" as they pushed forward to shake Jolie's hand, the statement said.

I will say this about Angelina, at least she puts her money where her mouth is, and walks the walk. I may not agree with her on some things, but I got to give her respect on this.

When she adopts a Hollywood Orphan, I’ll be impressed. If she adopts a kid from inner-city Los Angeles/Chicago/Detriot, I’ll do handstands, LOL!

Mia Farrow has done extensive humanitarian work and has adopted several children, but I don’t recall seeing her on magazine covers in recent times (except when Woody got caught with her daughter). The only difference I can see is that Jolie is a sex symbol.
This Lib airhead is in the Supermarket Tabloids at least once a week. It would be nice to see her and her dysfunctional lifestyle go away.

Imagine if others would follow her example. Liam Neeson could really be an Oscar Schindler anytime he could find the courage and moral compass he manages to act like he has so convincingly.
This is not the traitor Sean Penn cozying up to Saddam Husein in Bagdad. This is a woman placing herself at some risk to give these poor refugees some hope against a brutal mass murder Bash ur head in Assad, and his henchmen.

Really? You are criticizing a woman for adopting the ‘wrong’ children? I’m not a fan of Angelina Jolie, but she is the mother to children who needed one. I say good for her!

When she is doing these foreign trips under the colors of the United Nations then whether she knows it or not she is working to take away individual liberty.
Her heart is in the right place and she has done it on her own expense, shedding light on human suffering and personally trying to ease some of that. Good for her. She’s also made several trips to Walter Reed.
She’s no Sean Penn, jumping in a boat in N.O. with a full camera crew.
I don’t really care for her films but she’s got my support for her efforts in Syria and Turkey. Good for her.

I am going to presume that you are NOT from the US or you would know about our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. The purpose behind the UN is to establish global order or in more familiar terms a One World Government under the UN Charter.
The woman is a complete freak.
