Yep, I’d say that Mr. Dunn was long past the point of depleting his own share of good luck. IIRC, he and the other “Jackass” members participated in something called “Gumball 3000”, which I’m sure featured a lot of the sort of driving that has killed scores of stuntmen ove the years.

I know that stretch of road very well. Mostly a long, flat stretch. At 3 a.m. with full moonlight in summer, youthful indiscretion and the need for speed got the better of him, as it used to do in my misspent youth. Alcohol was likely involved. And perhaps a deer wandered into the road (they’re everywhere here.) I don’t know how I made it to my ripe older age. There but for the grace of God, go I.

The 911 GT3 rs is basically a barely street version of it’s Les Mans style GT race car. It will run you about 180K brand new. It’s the most powerful engine put in any of their production 911 body style cars for sale. It’s even more powerful than a 911 Turbo which I’ve driven and is a rocket on 4 wheels.
It would be very easy for a drunk Mr. Ryan to kill himself with one.

No one gave a damn the first time it was posted either.

If you are doing 60mph, that’s a mile a minute, or about one hundred feet per second.
That hundred-foot skid mark was probably a half-second or so, maybe less.

For women, maybe. Considering some of the stunts he did during his career, I’d say he was a slow learner.

No. Careening really means tipping a boat on its side to do work on the hull. Careered is the correct word.

I found this skidmark vs. speed calculator.
On zero grade dry asphalt or concrete, the car would of lost about 50mph during a 100 foot skid. But it still smashed over a guard rail and fliped with enough force to disingrate a porsche with a extremely beefy body cage built into the design.
He must of been speeding, at least 80 to 100 mph.

I’m sorry to hear that-RIP to your uncle. My work takes me nearby and it was only when I got home today that I heard about this.

You're correct that tipping a boat is one meaning for careened, but the dictionary states that careening also means "To lurch or swerve while in motion," without mentioning a boat, so it could also apply to a car. So apparently both careering and careening are correct.
