What do you think of NBC's decision to cut the words 'under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance during a patriotic video aired for the network's US Open coverage? It's offensive! It's not patriotic if the network is rewriting the Pledge! It was the right thing to do, since there should be true seperation (sic) of church and state! It's not a big deal either way

I agree. I remember a poll (I think yesterday) about issuing an apology and the majority said NBC should (I want to say like 80% if memory serves me). The numbers on this poll seem off. If the poll is a true and accurate statement about society, I am very troubled by it.
I think most of the country is OK. The urban centers, probably not so much.

I’m flabbergasted at the response on that poll... Despite people’s feelings regarding the “under God” part, a TV station should not take it upon themselves to change the pledge. Absolutely wrong for them to make a political/social statement like that during an INTERNATIONALLY televised event, or during ANY event for that matter!
