Politico ^ | June 20th, 2011 | Johnathan Martin

NEW ORLEANS — Republicans head into 2012 united in their disdain for an unpopular, Big Government-loving, internationalist president.

The name of that president: George W. Bush.

From Capitol Hill to the statehouses to the presidential primary, Republicans are turning their back on almost every important accomplishment of the Bush administration.

I don't read Politico. I know Bush is as much an idiot as you are on your own merits.

Have you finished coloring in all the pages on your Bush book Decision Points?

“The Medicare plan was privatized, was it not?”

You’re living in a dreamworld if you believe that. Here’s the legislation that Bush signed.

Feel free to point out where it was “privatized.” Go ahead. I’ll wait.

“united in their disdain”

I think disdain is a bit too strong. I voted for him twice, and the other alternatives were worse. But I was never on board with his “new tone” garbage and wasn’t happy with his refusal to challenge the Dems.

He was no conservative, but he definitely earned respect as CINC. So no disdain, just respect mixed with disappointment over lost opportunities.

I think the MSM should be more worried about their Nutroot friends than the GOP or the Tea Party.

Bush beat Kerry fair and square. Get over it.

It's going take this country years to get over it, if ever. How bad was it? Your first clue is he was replaced by a Chicago neighborhood block Communist.

Painting Bush as dumb is a common DU practice.

Whatever you might think of him, Bush was no dummy...no matter what the liberals say.

Ahhh.....a perfect example of the maturity level and intellect of a pseudo-con Bush hater.

Thanks for showing your true colors, BufordP. (Pun intended).

btw, I think the name-calling is against FR rules, is it not? ("Idiot" is a name, in case you don't know that). Haven't you been around long enough to know how it works around here? Or do you just not care about doing the right thing?

Bush is NOT the president now...

Odumbo is. Bush haters are like Lebron haters...they are like ex-stalker girlfriends who hate the school jock because he didn;t sleep with their fugly asses.

I think the real truth is somewhere in the middle, between these extremes. Bush had his strengths, but he also had his faults—big spending, alien amnesty, leaving lousy leftists in charge of important parts of his administration.

But Bush was a decent guy, a real gentleman, who—as I said—also had his strengths.

As for this article, it’s just another twist on “blame Bush.” They can’t very well attack Bush for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, since Obama is still fighting those, and has even started a couple more. So they blame the economic crisis on Bush and his big-spending ways.

That started when Paulson—one of those traitors whom Bush never should have left in charge of the Treasury—came up with the Dems’ big October Surprise—a terrible financial crisis that was all Bush’s fault.

And in last week’s New Hampshire presidential debate, the Republican field even edged away from the Bush administration’s activist foreign policy, condemning the intervention in Libya and calling for an end to the war in Afghanistan

Nonsense. Libya is not in the same ball park. Conservatives were all for the "activist" policy of going into both Iraq and Afganistan.

And even W. would likely be looking to diminish our presence in Afganistan now that Bin Laden is dead. And likely we would have made greater progress there by this time were he still Pres.

Bush haters are like Lebron haters

As an Ohioan, I find your analogy absolutely flawless! LOL!

(Let's see how many gather here in total agreement with their leftist brothers at politico).

Oh stop...By the time Bush left office, it was so bad, this country was cartwheeling down range, out of control...

So bad, he was replaced by a block Communist out of Chicago...

Come on...

They probably also despised him because he loved his wife, and was loved in return.

A point I missed, but a good one.

There are MANY reasons why liberals and Marxists hate President Bush.

He was their enemy to the core.

Actually it started when Pelosi took the House. After the surge worked in Iraq she managed with the MSM to turn the war headlines into 24/7 propoganda about how we had the "worst economy since the depression" when the employment rate went up to 5.5%.

The relentless onslaught of lies guaranteed an economic crash.

“Bush was a decent guy, a real gentleman”

No disagreement here. His actions since leaving the Presidency has been admirable as well.

However with regards to Paulson - the buck stops at the President’s desk. As a candidate Bush advertised himself as a manager who would trust his appointees and delegate. He nominated Paulson - thus its on his head.

Feel free to point out where it was “privatized.” Go ahead. I’ll wait.

I'll have to look it up.

But even if I give you your point, there is not one thing you've said that supports your irrational hatred of President Bush and your calling him "immoral."

It's coming from inside your gut and has nothing to do with your brain.

Have a good evening, KB.
