Editorial: Who OK'd 'Guns To Gangs' Program, And Why?

Law: After getting caught doing the unbelievable — arming Mexico's cartels — word is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms boss is out, and the gun-controller the White House wanted all along is in. How far up does this go?

Acting ATF director Kenneth Melson is apparently ready to take the fall for what may be the most morally repulsive scandal to befall the Obama administration so far.

Our neighbor Mexico lies bleeding from a long, vicious war to fight seven major drug cartels at once. Some 38,000 have been left dead since 2006.

Amid all this, U.S. ATF agents had orders from on high to supply U.S. weapons to cartel middlemen buying them on U.S. soil for the odd purpose of "tracing" them.

The news that Melson is resigning seems to be a bid by the Obama administration to paint this as simply an example of Keystone Kop-style bungling being corrected.

But many things suggest the operation may have been done for political purposes, and not merely stupidity.

The idea behind "Operation Fast and Furious" was to let gun dealers sell weapons to cartel middlemen, who would then ship them to criminal gangs in Mexico, and damn the consequences.

The operation was so contrary to the goals of ATF that its agents repeatedly raised anguished protests — only to be rebuffed from their superiors, according to testimony presented to House Oversight Committee chair Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who is investigating the scandal.

If Kenneth Melson takes the rap for Obama on this he is a damned fool.

In fact if they trace this to Melson, his retirement should be in Fort Leavenworth. Maybe that would make him talk.

I would bet big time that this goes right to the top.

Obama== perhaps through Eric Holder. Working under the radar, His own words convict him.

Using laguage style as a guide: ‘Fast and Furious’ sounds more like ‘Shock and Awe’ than a ‘Kinetic Military Action’.

Well, they got to “trace” them. A couple ended up at the scene where an officer of a rival US Government agency was shot to death. Looks like he was hit with bullets from one of the Gunwalker weapons.

That’s a pretty solid “trace,” huh guys? Turned up some pretty “interesting” information there, didn’t ya?

Buncha geniuses in the ATF, that’s for sure. They’ve got a long track record of cleverness.

The miserable bastards at the top authorized the program and are now running like rats down the nearest hole. Shame on them.

What we need is a hard-charging prosecutor to take them to task (Zero, Holder, Hillary, Janet, etc.). They all knew about this deal.

One former LEO commentor on another site pointed out that this didn’t pass the sniff test.

There was no way ATF could track the guns inside Mexico or make any arrests there.

The Mexican authorities were kept completely in the dark.

Issa had damn well better sink his teeth into this and hold on like a pitbull. This is going to be Obama’s Iran-Contra scandal if the cards are played right.

The alt-media needs to keep hammering at this day and night. Like WaterGate, it’ll start slow but it has the potential to snowball big time. There’s just no way this could have been a legit law-enforcement operation.

You'll never convince me that this plan wasn't hatched in the White House.

It coincides nicely with a deluge of propaganda and spun statistics originating at high levels.

They needed a crisis to exploit and they got busy and created one.

US law enforcement with Obama as the chief executive has been caught red handed covertly and illegally supplying massive amounts of weapons to Mexican drug cartels, with said weapons linked to perhaps hundreds or more homicides. We may never know the full damage done. Their current cover story is some ridiculous notion about “tracking” the weapons. while only lying, obfuscation, story changing, shrugs, and denials have been forthcoming under direct examination by Issa. All of this on a media backdrop for months about gun-show loopholes, and stricter laws regarding legal ownership. Doesn’t get more sinister.

Much to be hoped for - but contra that strong hope is the fact that the most powerful - strike that, the highest ranking pubbie who should have been leading the charge by NOW wears pink neckties, weeps frequently and goes on golfing dates with the First Mickey from Nairobi, that is, the perp. And on the Senate side, where are the so-called conservatives - all five of them - who should be screaming for the lying punkster Eric coatHolder's head on a pike, for openers. Of course there is no way flunkies like Melson and coatHolder set this unconscionable, unspeakably evil criminal conspiracy in motion except by the direct order of the Kenyan entity. Neither of those good little Germans has the nerve to have done so. If this crime does not lead to the Mickey's resignation or else impeachment - then God help us all.

There are just too many things that fit together for it to be anything else. As a law enforcement action it makes no sense at all, things only add up to political conniving.

Prior to the lid being lifted on this travesty, Rodham Rodham Rodham made a big deal about American weapons being used in Mexico in one of her unbearable speeches. The op was probably a set-up so she and others could indict the 2nd amendment blah blah blah. So, it works like this:

Rodham et. al. gives the OK to sell guns into the cartels and then indicts America/the 2nd amendment when they are subsequently used to kill.

Next thing you know she’ll just shoot someone herself, and then blame it on America, George Washington, men, you name it. CodePink will support her and the queers will poor glitter on somebody or other.
