When I saw the title of the post, I was wondering. Now, which idiotic new rule is the EPA promulgating? They are coming fast and furious and are designed to take more money out of our pockets and destroy the economy.

Following links back to The Hill, it seems this is about new restrictions upon trace element emissions from coal burning power plants. This is alleged to be able to make a measurable difference in the health of thousands of people a year. GOP suspicions of junk science are high. Liberals are wailing as though kittens and puppies are being purposely trod to death.

From the linked article it says:
................."Browner headed EPA in the Clinton administration. She spoke with reporters after a CAP forum with a top EPA official and others who defended and lauded upcoming rules to cut mercury toxic emissions from power plants.".................
.............."The rule proposed in March, according to EPA, would prevent as many as 17,000 premature deaths and 11,000 heart attacks a year, among other health benefits."..............
So we want to cut mercury toxic emmissions from power plants while we are being forced to install the curly lightbulbs in our personal house filled with what?......mercury?
The 17,000 premature deaths and 11,000 heart attacks I'm sure are based on some "real" science. /s
Wonder how that will offset the 1 million premature deaths and 40 gazillion heart attaacks from breaking curly lightbulbs in millions of American homes? (I can make up junk statistics, too!)
