When the FBI came there supposedly was nobody at the server location. So they had no idea what their warrant referred to, which was surely less than what they took. They should have taken nothing until they obtained clarification.

Better put some ice on that...

Offshore hosting keeps looking better and better.
This company is in Switzerland but their servers were still in VA.

Yes, but I’m talking about hosting on servers that are physically not in North America.
That’s looking better and better, as I said.

Russian organized crime, and Chinese spies dont agree. That's is why these bust occur here in the States. At the end of the day, the best place to host your bot command module is in a nice American facility. Power stays on and the bandwidth is plentiful.. there is always a crooked colo center willing to playball.

No surprise whatsoever.
Just pointing out the (what-should-be-but-often-isn’t) obvious.

Yes, but if you are hosting something that criticizes the Obama Administration, you might not want the hardware to be anywhere they can easily get a seizure order.

I thought the FBI can now come on your premises and search your house without a warrant.

Maybe I should not have used the sarcasm tag as most of them are above the law.
I did not want folks to think I thought that way.

Fully agree! I host and resell from The Planet in Texas - imagine if something like that happens there? Wow...millions will be down in a second all over the world. Scary.

They could have left the servers on-line and examined them in place................They crippled a lot of innocent companies websites for no good reason.............You're giving them the benfit of the doubt. Do you really believe they considered the side effects?
