F.B.I. seizes web servers, knocks sites offline

When the FBI came there supposedly was nobody at the server location. So they had no idea what their warrant referred to, which was surely less than what they took. They should have taken nothing until they obtained clarification.

Russian organized crime, and Chinese spies dont agree. That's is why these bust occur here in the States. At the end of the day, the best place to host your bot command module is in a nice American facility. Power stays on and the bandwidth is plentiful.. there is always a crooked colo center willing to playball.

Fully agree! I host and resell from The Planet in Texas - imagine if something like that happens there? Wow...millions will be down in a second all over the world. Scary.

They could have left the servers on-line and examined them in place................They crippled a lot of innocent companies websites for no good reason.............

You're giving them the benfit of the doubt. Do you really believe they considered the side effects?

I believe they really didn’t give a damn about the consequences to innocent parties. This is the cyber equivalent to “Kill them all, let God sort them out.”.................
