Whee-Nelly! With a population of 1216 (by a 2009 estimate), we now have our very own terrorist movement in Bandera (aka- the Cowboy Capital of the World!).

It appears that Cpt Charlie Hicks has either really been hitting the hooch and listening to a bunch of CT'ers, or he is intent on maintaing the atmosphere of corruption and incompetence that has permeated the Bandera County Sheriff's Office for quite some time:

Links @ Bandera County Courier

We have a Sheriff who resigned and was indicted for alleged felony misuse of county property and abusing his official capacity.

ex-Sheriff Weldon Tucker

Apparently full of boneheads, Deputy Arrests Woman, Leaves Toddler Behind Deputy Leaves Toddler Behind On A Busy Highway and Lakehills man shot to death

With LEO's like these, I wonder why we need a terrorist movement?

Sounds like a hick sheriff who wants attention. Perhaps he is hoping he’ll get to be interviewed by “infobabes”.

“The Sovereign Citizens Movement have been known to carry out violent acts, including killing law enforcement officers and other public servants.”

By definition, carry out violent acts doesn’t make one a terrorist. It depends on the motive. Terrorism is more centered on those that are innocent. This group seems to be targeting a subset of society that they don’t consider innocent.

I just read the "Toddler story"
Geeez!!
I've never heard of anything like it. I notice the name of the deputy was withheld.
That's probably a good thing considerin' this is Texas.
I feel like drivin' over to Bandera myself and hittin' the jerk with a baseball bat.
That's just for starters.

The Sheriff better get a posse and mosey on over to Arky Blue’s Silver Dollar Saloon and git those terrorists out on the street for a quick draw shoot em up.

I have heard about the toddler incident from a deputy of a nearby county - I will just say 2 counties north. That whole department, as well as the whole city PD for the county seat, regarded that incident as highly unprofessional. So a women starts getting a little hysterical about a child left in the car - use some common sense, that is a natural response. All the deputy would have had to do was use his flashlight and check in the back of the car. Then the matter would have been taken care of. I am not a cop basher, I have friends and family in the profession. I also have professional expectations. I do bash individuals who can’t do their jobs in a professional manner.

Thanks Bockscar. Has this jerkoff heard of La Raza, or al Qaeda, or drug gangs, or the human sea of illegals?

I think that Charlie Hicks probably listened to failed County Attorney candidate from Kerr County, Ilse Bailey.

Her sovereign citizen crapola is posted at the Southern Poverty Law Center site. I forget why she considers herself to be an expert on Domestic Terrorism and militia/sovereign citizen types, but I guess SPLC thought she was, too.

Poor thing couldn’t believe she lost the election here.
D’oh!

After reading the article, I tend to agree with your assessment. There is simply no there, there.

I didn’t read any real evidence that there was a single member of this terrorist group in the county. All I got was a bunch of innuendo and (allow me to coin a new word) scarrorism.
