Casey Anthony's Mother Testifies the Web Searches for 'Chloroform' Were Hers

Casey Anthony's mother testified Thursday she used the family's computer to search for suspicious items like "chloroform" -- potentially undercutting the prosecution's attempt to pin those searches on Anthony, who is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter.

Cindy Anthony told a jury for the first time Thursday that she used her home computer to look up "chloroform" and other search terms in March 2008 -- even though records show she was at work at the time of the searches, according to prosecutors.

I thought that there was evidence that computer searches on chloroform were conducted on at least 3 computers where Casey had access — home, boyfriend’s, friend (or library). Or, was that just a rumor?

All it takes is for a couple of people on the jury to have doubts. It’s really sickening that the defense tries to place those kinds of people on juries for exactly these kinds of situations. That’s how O.J. was acquitted.

Everyone is so sure they know what happened because a story says records show something.

I am not surprised that Cindy Anthony is trying to save her daughter. I think her lying on the stand is a very dumb, dumb thing for her to do. What, does she want to go to jail and join her daughter? What good would that do?

Well, I'm a grandmother of 4, three of them babies. They all live under my roof with their mother, my daughter. You had better believe that if my daughter, either negligently or deliberately, was responsible for the death of one of these angels I would be the first one to testify against her. To do otherwise would be to dishonor the memory of the child.

And I'll bet I'm not the only one who feels this way.

“You would think she’d behave with a little dignity just to honor her granddaughter.”

The State of Florida is the only one seeking justice for Caylee.
The grandparents who say they loved Caylee are not seeking justice.

They are enablers.

I gotta make us feel real good to know that they are tracking what we say and when we say it here on this forum!!

Technically, yes. A search warrant could get the IP addresses of our posts here if JR keeps his server logs around (or if they're recorded in the forum database), and search warrants on ISPs could get which customer the IP addresses were assigned to. But in this case it looks like they just went through the browser history on her computer. There are many ways to clean that up.

The mother already gave testimony damning to her daughter. Now she gives a scrap of favorable testimony and you’re all sure she’s ltying and dishonoring her granddaughter.

I’m glad they have juries and not trials by on line commentary.

I, for one, have no idea if she is lying.

The grandmother called 911 and basically told them straight out her daughter just admitted the child is missing a month, AND that her car smells like a dead body was in it.

They also went to the prison and confronted their daughter with damning facts ON TAPE.

But everyone now wants to bury the grandmother as a liar, enabler and dishonoring her granddaughter.

Life is so easy from the perspective of a computer screen and keyboard.

I think the whole family is disturbed.....thats why I won’t be surprised if its determined that the little girl died of negligence in that pool and after a screaming fit, daddy and dtr sought to cover it up...

“Any opinion on O.J. Simpson?”

Guilty. And the grandmother isn’t OJ in this case, she turned OJ in - her own daughter.

IF the grandmother wanted to enable her daughter, and if that was all she cared about, then she would have plotted with her daughter on what to do.

She would NOT have called the police crying that her DAUGHTER’S car smelled of a dead body, and that her daughter hid the child’s disappearance for a month, and she would not have gone to the prison and confronted her daughter’s lying - on tape for the jury to see.

Sheesh.

Please. She didn't turn the daughter in, she made the initial 911 call when she thought the kid was just missing. And almost as soon as she made it, she started covered for her daughter, backtracking, changing her story, etc. It was no longer a dead body smell, it because "trash in the trunk" or "old pizza." After the first call, she and her husband never missed an opportunity to put a positive spin on the facts to benefit her daughter.

Some of us have been following this case since the beginning and know these facts well. We are entitled to form an opinion, and I've formed mine. If you don't like it, tough.

It’s very tough for them, and easy for you. I’ve also been following the case. A mother wasn’t so quick on second thought to send her daughter to the gallows. She actually reconsidered her initial reaction and tried to believe her daughter’s version. She actually became convinced she wasn’t a pathologist and expert on car trunk smells. Wow, shocking, what an evil grandmother.

BTW my guess is it was 1st degree murder however unlike everyone else here, I wasn’t there. Also the grandmother is not the defendant.

What’s the point of telling me it’s tough if I dont like your opinion?

Nope you are not alone in that feeling. Particularly with a crime as heinous as this. That poor baby was killed by someone she trusted. I cannot imagine that type of betrayal from a mother and just how horrible that little girl’s last thoughts were. No doubt there was absolute terror.
