“We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, we dont care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there. And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. Thats why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate. Those young minds are a part of a new generation of leaders, the doors of higher education must be open to them. The message is simple: educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.” Rick Perry
Shifting minds are a dangerous thing. There is nothing to stop Perry from another reassessment and reversion to previous positions.
You left off the LINK “antisocial” — and I KNOW WHY.
Once again, please limit excerpts to 3-4 paragraphs.
I know Bush was a spender, but I heard Perry on Cavuto last week and he was cagey on the Latino issue.
One way to curb spending is to enforce immigration and get illegals of the ebt free food, ebt welfare and end their misuse of hospitals. Because of that, they live better than many of the legal citzens who have to pay taxes on their earnings.
He, and those like him, never address that issue.
I call that compassionate to those who have no right to be here when not entering legally.
[excerpt] It was clear the Bush brand didnt help Hutchison, as Texas stood with Perry.
So why did the Bush brand line up so staunchly with Hutchison? You can trace one possibility to 2008, when Perry launched an extended critique of Bushs administration, brusquely attacking him for his record on spending as both governor and president.
Let me tell you something, Perry said at the time, according to the Austin American-Statesman, George Bush was never a fiscal conservative. Wasnt when he was in Texas. ... I mean, 95, 97, 99, George Bush was spending money. [end excerpt]
[excerpt].....When Obama continued to refuse even five minutes for the Governor, Perry took matters into this own hands and was standing on the tarmac at Austins airport when President Obama stepped off of Air Force One. Obama looked confused, Perry looked determined. Obama still ignored the pleas for help.
Perry again took matters into his own hands, and established an elite unit of Texas Rangers to bolster border security. [end excerpt]
I fixed that.
Why did you edit my main post?
It was under the word limit.
My reading is that Perry is smart enough not to walk into a fight leading with his chin.
He pushes the conservative agenda (example: It took 6 years to get the voter ID — but he worked until it happened) while at the same time not going out of his way to make himself roadkill for liberal activists like the “Castro brothers” mentioned in post #1.
He picks his battleground because he intends to win the war.
He was big on pushing the Trans Texas Corridor. He has attended the Bilderbergers.
I don’t think I can trust him much yet.
He could just be sly, we will see. They all become better conservatives at election time.
McCain sounded like he reformed until after he was sworn in.
Past actions and behaviors need to be examined.
It was well over 3-4 paragraphs. I mopped up the entire thread.
Sorry to bother you again.
Does the main post have to be limited to 3-4 paragraphs vs the 300 word minimum?
I just want to understand the posting rules.
Thanks for your help.
You posted the link, but left out that part. I just thought it should be included.
Oh, imagine the horror. Going to the polls AND HAVING TO PROVE WHO YOU ARE!!! Isn’t that just awful? You’ll actually have to go to the superhuman effort of taking out your drivers license (or other photo ID) out and showing it to a pollworker. Just think of how many lives will be ruined by that simple act. Here in Wisconsin we’re about to sign a voter ID bill into law as well. I don’t know how I’ll handle the trauma of proving to the pollworkers that I am who I say I am. (smirk)
Yes I did post the link -— so you could go and read the entire piece.
A bit different than just cherry picking and dropping the quote out of context.
Dittos!
Exactly.
I never could understand the problems you people have with elections, claims of dead people voting, hanging chads, voting machine problems, voter identification, etc etc. We here in Canada are just a small country 33,000,000 souls and
our elections go off smooth as silk. If you increase our voting problems 10 fold, which would be your population, we
still wouldn’t have near the problems you have. For the most advanced country in the world you sure can’t conduct elections in an age of super technology, it almost seems there are groups that want it that way so they can cheat the process. I wouldn’t for a moment suggest they were democrats.
