Despite a lawsuit from the Florida Education Association and other public worker unions; Governor Rick Scott signed Senate Bill 2100 into law, meaning all government employees will now contribute 3% of their salaries to the Florida Retirement System.

3% is too much to ask for union members. Instead, we should just pay higher taxes.

I call for tort reform so that when the union loses this frivolous lawsuit, it has to pay punitive damages for wasting the taxpayers’ monies.

Maybe this lawsuit will be the inspiration for you to present it to your legislator for the next session?

The leftmedia has been attacking Scott from every angle like a pack of rabid dogs since he was elected. They hate him.

Knowing this, he ignores them, and continues to fulfill his promises. Which, of course, sends the lefties into an even more deranged histrionics.

Outstanding.

This is great but what is his next move?

I.E. will he match Walker / Kasich and go for "Paycheck Protection"?

Scott is doing what we the people want! I hope his next step is getting rid of some of the lazy State employees and tighten up requirements for State funded programs.

I noticed the same thing Joe. But it is showing how the media reacts to a politician whose trying to save the taxpayers money. This associates the media with higher taxes and as antagonists against the people.

God Bless our Gov. Rick Scott......

He’s keeping his campaign promise to save FL from bankrupcy despite the attacks of the liberal media, bogus legal suits and unions that want recession strapped taxpayers to keep paying for their bloated benefits!

Oh yeah, the leftwingnut media in South Florida (Palm Beeotch to the Keyz) hate Rick Scott. Hell, they hated every Republican except that RINO traitor Charlie Tuna Crist.

So if they make $1,000 per week, these greedy lefties have to pay $30 per week for their own damned retirement. Poor babies.

I have an idea; how about they pay the entire cost of their retirement - as my wife and I do. This way my wife and I don't have to fund THEIR retirement in addition funding our own retirement.

Worse yet is that my wife and I don't send our daughter to Florida public schools. We would never dream of it. Hence, we get to pay twice there also. Once to the public schools we don't use, and once to educate her outside the system.

"Thank you Gov. Scott. You re-earn my vote, every day."

To quote Greg Gutfield after Scott passed the drug-testing welfare recipients bill, "Rick Scott, or as I like to call him, Captain Awesome."

Everyone's been screaming about that... Apparently I'm weird for opposing the drug war but thinking it's fine to say, with legislation:

"Whoa. You want money from our pockets to pay for food and housing? Fine. We want some assurance you're not buying drugs with it. You can't buy booze with food stamps/EBT, so generic cash from the government needs that string attached as well in fairness. Especially NOW when we're friggin broke in Florida, because property taxes aren't bringing in massive funds like before. Don't like it? I'm with you; get off the teat and decide what to do with YOUR OWN MONEY."

Whatever. The goal was likely budget reduction; I have no doubt it's already working. It's one of the least worst ways I can think of to do that.
