Anyone that reads, or even worse, subscribes to Slime
is obviously a hopeless Marxist.
To those people, anything the party says is the constitution
for the day.

“I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground that ‘all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.’ To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, not longer susceptible of any definition.” —Thomas Jefferson, 1791

A “living” document?! Imagine signing a “living” document contract. Means anything that the other party says it means as time goes on. Sounds more like a dead document.

Risking the wrath of Sarah Palin, I’ll say it: Time is full of Constitutional retards.

1823 — letter to William Johnson by Thomas Jefferson

Category: Constitutional Interpretation

On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.

"If the Constitution was intended to limit the federal government, it sure doesn’t say so..."

Of course it doesn't, if you don't bother to read it.

I want this to be a joke. If there was any doubt, now it’s gone: the fascists-communists run US media, intent on destroying us. Time prints fiction.

I think Time Magazine is right about this one. Look at this comprehensive summary of the document and you'll see no mention of restriction of powers.

Both Time and Newsweek have to publish outrageous, rediculous headline stories to attract buyers.

Mark Levin is an authority on constitutional law and heads a group very active protecting our Constitution. He is also a very popular author and talk show host who is followed closely here on FR.

His June 23rd broadcast available here presented a great response to this article.

Exceptionally interesting was his explanation about the Necessary and Proper Clause, which is located at Article I, Section 8, Clause 18. The MSM employees feeeeeeeeel that it is proof that the Founders intended to grant huge powers to the federal government over the people -- contrary to the opposite that those scary Tea Party troublemakers think.

Mr Levin kinda summed up the facts around that clause by asking that if the ultra liberals are correct then why did the Founders even bother to write the Constitution?

Another glaring fault in the MSM employees' argument is when they downplayed the importance of a constitution by pointing out that Nazi Germany among others had a constitution.

Exactly! responded Mr. Levin.

That's why it is so important to protect our Constitution from people like them!

"For why declare that things shall not be done which there is no power to do?"-A. Hamilton

Oh Mr. Hamilton. If only you and your fellow Federalists could see how far the sensibilities of this nation could fall! I wish I could travel back in time and bring you a copy of this magazine, and let you know that there are people of my time that are taking the magazine's assertions seriously without guffaws of laughter!

I am thrilled that Time and the rest of the MSM has taken on the mantle of the Supreme Court....this will save American taxpayers THOUSANDS of dollars per year, no longer having to pay the salaries of Supreme Court Justices...(is ‘sarc’ really necessary?)
