Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) spent 31 years in manufacturing before his election to Congress last November. Hes not letting that experience go to waste.
Johnson is out with a new video this morning to coincide with President Obamas visit to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh to promote manufacturing. He criticizes Obamas recent comments blaming inventions like the ATM for unemployment.
This is a depressing display of economic ignorance, Johnson says. He adds: Technological innovations create jobs. They drive our economy forward, by helping workers be more productive. That raises everyones living standards.
Johnson recounts a story of Milton Friedmans visit to China. Upon seeing Chinese workers digging with shovels, he asked, Why not use bulldozers?. Freidman was told that workers using shovels would create more jobs. He replied, Then why not use spoons, instead of shovels?

Ignorance???? NO ,NOPE,Good old fashioned STUPIDITY and if that is bad,One Look at his single cell supporters will tell the tale, they are not fit to be in a modern society.
Complaining about the shadow on the wall is pointless. Obama doesn’t need to do anything more than smile and wave. While he dismantles christian democracy and paves the way for sharia law, we complain about his form and function. Obama’s real purpose is to be the door stop that keeps open the door through which all sorts of evil enters our house. He is playing for time. Only an immediate effort to impeach him will slow him down. There aren’t enough martyrs out there to stop the anti-christian train from rolling over us.
Seriously, if he shut his mouth a few times, he would sound a little better. I already didn’t like him, but it is better to be simply disliked than to additionally put your foot in your mouth quite often.

I remember when I was in India, I saw a half a dozen workers sweeping up my hotel floor with a hand full of sticks. It seemed like they were just scratching the floor with these sticks rather than sweeping it up.
Later I saw some Indian contruction workers making a building. The worker at the bottom would fill a bucket with cement and lift it up to a worker at a platform above him, who would then hand the bucket to the worker above him, and so on.
It seems every the floor is washed by a women scrubbing down on her knees.
I asked this Indian guy I was with “Jeez! Haven’t you guys ever heard of investing in a pushbroom or a pulley or a mop before?”
“Well, this way provides a lot more jobs for workers.” He offered as his explanation.
If they’re looking for jobs, why wouldn’t they start with fixing the holes in the sidewalk, or the doorknob on my hotel-room, or the toilet, or the broken screen, or cleaning up garbage off the street?
It’s really tough to understand some other cultures.
The author is ignorant of where the jobs are created. The jobs are created in other countries.
But BOY that Congressman needs to go to "TV school"!
Very uninspiring. That approach will bring in few new voters IMHO. Just sayin!
like Satan loving it that people don’t believe in him, Obama moves skillfully under the guise of being stupid
That “Congressman” is our new SENATOR, and we love him and are VERY inspired by him. He is a breath of fresh air compared to his predecessor — that slimy Russ Feingold person, whom we threw out on his ear in the last election.
Maybe he’ll improve his delivery to your satisfaction by the time he has to stand for re-election.
Wisconsin ping for Diana’s list.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer accepted his martyrdom as the will of God, and so would I.
It is shall anyone needs to say something this obviously
His delivery is the only thing I had a critique for, not his content nor his voting record. Glad you could distinguish between them, and compartmentalize them as I objectively did, too.
