"There are different opinions on that but I have always appreciated anyone who had the courage to take it on."
Excuse me, Jim? You "have always appreciated" Myth Romney?!!

Its simple Romney was a member of “The Club” and DeMint simply supported a fellow Club member.
Besides, trying something like RomneyCare in Massachusetts is the whole point of having 50 separate, sovereign states. Each state can try something different and other states can adopt what seems to work.

We need more states doing their own thing. If they fail it serves as a lesson for the rest.

good point about the states.
and DeMint doesn’t support it now, unlike Romney who still does.
people wanted DeMint to have known what a disaster it would be, like a psychic?
seems we should be aiming that the people destroying our country now, instead of one of the FEW members of congress who are doing the right thing, about the dept ceiling, etc.

First, this is CNN. They have cherry-picked his ‘comments’ with the intention to divide conservatives. Second, faced with a choice in 2008 between McQueeg, Huckster and Romney, it was in every way possible a ‘lesser of evils/no-win scenario’ choice. I give Senator DeMint, the strongest conservative voice in the entire US Senate, a pass.

Very disappointed in this.Senator DeMint is entitled to make the occasional error in judgment. We are all human.

I like Sarah but that’s a simple fact that she’ll have trouble escaping.

My rule of thumb.
If I agree with any candidate on every issue all the time, someone is lying. Either the candidate is lying to me, or I'm lying to myself.

You and Little Ray are correct IMO - but I’ve been totally flamed on FR for saying that.
To: upchuck
Senator DeMint, the strongest conservative voice in the entire US Senate,
is entitled to make the occasional error in judgment. Exactly. And you could also make the case that he had no better choice and it wasn't an error as much as it was a no-win scenario. When you're trying to avoid the worst Presidency ever (0bama), one can rightly be convinced that dire decisions/compromises were necessary.
To: cripplecreek; rabscuttle385
Excellent, common sense rule cc.
Thanks!

Don’t go confusing the purists with logic and the facts........what you say makes entirely too much sense.

Being flamed can be a badge of honor. Depends by whom the flaming is being done.
