The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has declined a request to intervene on behalf of Dodgers owner Frank McCourt in his showdown with Major League Baseball, Rep. Charles Gonzalez said Friday.
Gonzalez (D-San Antonio), the chairman of the CHC, met Friday with MLB lobbyists. He said he had requested a meeting with Commissioner Bud Selig to discuss issues of concern to the Latino community but said the CHC would not stand with McCourt in his battle against Selig.
We can't take sides in a business dispute," Gonzalez said. "We do want to express our appreciation for what Mr. McCourt has meant to the Latino community. He has been supportive of many of our issues."
...Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Los Angeles), who is a CHC member and whose district includes Dodger Stadium, also met with the MLB lobbyists Friday. Becerra said he hoped the meeting with Selig would take place soon so he could better understand all sides of the Dodgers issue.

Hispanic Dodgers fans HATE McCourt, and that is putting it mildly. They don't need him as their steenkin champion. He needs to just get out of L.A., where he never belonged.
As a hispanic Dodger fan myself for 40 plus years, it appears this jack wheel is out of touch with PAYING Dodger Fans. I'm glad the Police have taken over the Stadium and the Gang Bangers with NO BASEBALL knowledge now stay at home. . . The VIVA LOS Dodgers BS has to stop as well. How about people of ALL races and ethnicities enjoying the game with-out all the B.S. What's next, Armenian night where there is a free deoderant give away?

I grew up in Long Beach, so I am a long time Dodger fan (saw them as a kid at the Coloseum). We use to go to Chavez Ravine, then my brother and I would walk to Chinatown after a game where my dad would pick us up at Philppe’s.
Would not walk that route today. Shame what has transpired over the many years.
I also hail from the Coliseum days. The Dodgers have been my team from the minute they hit town.
A thriving major league baseball team would pick this town up a bit, at least during the summer, but we can blame the McCourt regime for a great deal of the urban decay.
In the meantime, 400,000 are expected to attend the U.S.A. vs. Mexico soccer match in Pasadena today. That tells you what the trend is... so glad I am 30+ miles away from there....
