Andrew Breitbart wasn’t supposed to be sitting here in a television studio makeup chair. But when he heard that Anthony Weiner was about to announce his resignation, he dropped everything.
Mr. Breitbart, the conservative author and blogger who first published Mr. Weiner’s suggestive self-portraits, had ditched his book-signing in central Illinois and hopped on a flight earlier than planned to the Twin Cities, where he was booked as a marquee attraction at RightOnline, a conservative bloggers conference.
“To put myself in Decatur, Ill., without a satellite connection would have put me in a bad situation,” he explained as a woman applied a layer of foundation to his jowly face in preparation for his appearance on CNN. (He had just finished a phone interview with Fox News; Sean Hannity’s radio show would follow; then a quick break before sitting down with a documentary film crew.)
Part performance artist, part polemicist, Mr. Breitbart, 42, has used his network of Web sites and their legions of followers to bring conservative media red meat. Some of his reader-generated scoops have reverberated all the way to the halls of the United States Capitol, like the Weiner photos and undercover video he released of Acorn workers offering advice on how to evade taxes and conceal child prostitution. After the videos went viral Congress ended grants to Acorn, and federal agencies severed ties with the group.
The stories and videos Mr. Breitbart plays up on his Web sites — which include Big Government, Big Journalism and Big Hollywood — tend to act as political Rorschach tests. If you agree with him, you think what he does is citizen journalism. If you don’t, his work is little more than crowd-sourced political sabotage that freely distorts the facts.

Breitbart, Drudge, Zero Hedge and dozens of other quality blogs are but the start of what will inevitably turn into a flood. The old journalism model is rapidly dying and its replacement is growing like Topsy.
And this is good. Very good.
How To Get Rid Of Obama For Good
Unless we are facing imminent threat from a foreign aggressor, Americans will vote in national elections on the basis of the state of the economy. Inflation is a major factor in this, but the most important issue is jobs. Unemployment is now chronically high.
We all now know that Obama is a socialist and his intent is to expand government at the expense of private enterprise. We also know that government never generates capital. It only consumes wealth; never creates it. We also know that the single greatest aspect of the economy affecting how people vote is employment. If I have had my job eliminated, my hours cut back, have been furloughed from my job, or am about to lose my job, I am more likely to vote against Obama and his big-government socialists.
Small and mid-sized businesses know that higher corporate taxes and government regulation, which Obama loves, destroys our free market system of prosperity. Small and mid-sized business owners know that the Obama administration must be defeated in 2012. Their contributing to the elections of those who run against Obama is not enough, however.
The best way for business to insure the defeat of Obama is for them to begin now to voluntarily cut back their employment rolls - even if it means temporarily sacrificing their companies’ profitability. Putting people out of work temporarily in order to insure Obama’s defeat in 2012 will mean a healthier business climate in the years to come. Once we get government off the backs of business and the working middle class of this country, we will be on better footing to grow our economy once again. The removal of Obama is the beginning of a long-term solution to our economic depression.
It might sound like a draconian measure to lay people off in order to insure Obama’s defeat, but let’s face it Obama is out to destory our country and we are in dire straits. What’s needed, as in time of war, are drastic measures.
In the past, when our country was under a threat from external forces, men (and now women) have been called upon to leave their normal means of employment to join the armed forces to insure the security of our nation for our families and posterity.
Now our country is under a different kind of threat - a threat from within - a threat from our own government which has hijacked our Constitution and has concentrated power in the hands of a few elitists. The threat is no less real than when our enemies have been external to us.
So the call for all of us to make sacrifices in a time of war is no extreme measure but is patriotic. And just as in a time of war when families, communities, friends and churches pull together to get through the crisis, so this should be the same response to those who find themselves out of work. If we all pull together, in the end our collective security will be insured and that of our children as well. Obama must not be re-elected for the good of all.
So, simply covering news that the left establishment media hides and refuses to cover = “The Right’s Blogger Provocateur”.

People who work at journalism full time ought to be able to do a better job of it than people for whom it is a hobby. But that's not going to happen as long as we "professional" journalists ignore stories we don't like and try to hide our mistakes. We think of ourselves as "gatekeepers." But there is not much future in being a gatekeeper when the walls are down.
One way to help destroy the propaganda press, is never click on ads that appear on their websites. It will drive advertisers and money away.
OTOH, do click on ads that show at conservative blogs or websites. Each click brings money in and makes conservative news sites stronger.
There is no reason to even go to their websites, the propagandists are on TV and radio as well as in the papers.
The truth is a little harder to find.

NY Times: “Paper of record” no more?
You may excommunicate me for saying this, lol, but sometimes there is real news in the NY Times, and it behooves us to look for it.
I do suggest that FReepers are one of the few groups in the world that can strain out the trash contained in the NY Times and Public Radio, and glean the nuggets of news sometimes contained therein.
And can do it without becoming contaminated.

And when the Dinos do something right we should reward them for it. I think it was CBS that broke the Fast & Furious scandal although I think they've now been quiet about it. And the NYT did have a fair story on an ex-gay a week ago.
This writer of this Breitbart story sounded like he was trying real hard to be fair but couldn't quite pull it off.

That’s the media’s way of stating “he threatens us and our dominance”.
I believe you are correct. Now think about this:
THE VALUE OF ANY INFORMATION IS REALIZED ONLY IF DISTRIBUTION CAN BE CONTROLLED.
Once "news" is released, it has no value any more. That is why newspapers, magazines, tv, radio - all forms of human communications - must control distribution if they are to have value and survive. It's all about the networks and connectivity.
Remember what kind of capital was once required to distribute information? Huge towers and transmitters, microwave links, studios, cameras, etc. Giant printing presses and paper mills to make paper. Fleets of trucks to tote the paper to individual addresses. A huge, inefficient postal service to hand-deliver ink-on-paper all over the world.
All gone now - Gone With the Wind.

Here’s the way I look at it.
We need to defeat this media. It’s that simple. And while the media makes money when we click on the ads on their webpages, they still(maybe less) make money on simple traffic. They have to charge an up front fee.
The more we conservatives give them web traffic, the longer we put off the defeat they deserve.
We conservatives have built enough of a media up that none of us ever need to go to the NY Slimes again, at least in the short term.
Once the media gets enough of a defeat and seemingly officially waves the white flag by not lying, not covering up, and not needing to be dragged kicking and screaming into covering stories that they make it clear that they don’t like, I’ll start going to their webpages again.
Until that time comes, going to their webpages is largely beneath me.

Once we have information, it becomes valueable to those of us out here in the country class.

The beauty of computers and miniaturization. But that’s what makes all of the progressives’ schemes for regulating everything under the sun to meet their vision of how things should be so dangerous.
What if they get their way? Then what? How will they treat those who disobey? I don’t expect it to be kind - not when they have eugenics in their history.
