Bachmann doesn't accept apology for 'flake' question By Michael O'Brien - 06/27/11 08:10 AM ET

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said she wasn't accepting the apology of Fox anchor Chris Wallace, who asked her Sunday if she was a "flake."

Bachmann rejected an apology from Wallace, who challenged whether the Tea Party-aligned congresswoman was serious in her bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

"I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious," Bachmann said in an interview on ABC when asked about Wallace's apology, which he posted online.

"Those are the small issues," Bachmann said when specifically pressed about whether she accepted the apology. "I'm focused on the big one."

A weekend poll of likely Republican caucusgoers in Iowa showed that she was in contention for the nomination in Iowa, and her performance at a New Hampshire debate earlier this month has political observers buzzing with speculation that the three-term congresswoman might just make a credible run for the nomination.

It’s a mistake to make it about being “insulted.” She ought to get right in their face about the way the media try to diminish and marginalize conservatives running for public office.

A big name MSM journalist coming from a big name MSM family and he apologizes? Wow, I’m impressed. Dan Rather is still mumbling in the corner about fake but accurate. Hell, Wallace probably did Bachmann a favor here.

Did Wallace ask Obama if he was a flake for his “57 states?”

Or Biden for his “Stand up, Chuck?”

Not that I can recall. What a pathetic idiotic question to ask a viable candidate.

Give it up.

1. It was Rollins, not Bachmann who said it.-

2. There was technically nothing untrue about what he said.

Good for her!

Merely one of the "charges" being made against B.O. is that he is a Marxist. Will Wallace ever ask B.O. whether or not he is a [fill-in-the-blank]?

I dunno. Is it possible he meant no harm with that question? An easy response would have been, “No, and I appreciate that the Left labels all non-Statists with that moniker” or something.

Wallace ripped Stewart-Leibovitz a new one so badly old Jonny needed to get a colostomy bag after the interview. “Are you bringing back Amos and Andy?” Priceless.

Puhleze.

Ms. Bachmann HIRED Rollins and has SOLE responsibility.

The MORE weaseling,
the less likeable is Team Bachmann.

Anyone who dreams that Ms. Bachmann-DOES-not-have
responsiblity for someone-she-HIRES is a flake.

Do you really think Wallace will be (or even should be) “out on the street”? Do we really need another opportunity to act like victims here? Yeah, got it... the MSM isn’t fair. Wah Wah Wah... and every time we fall for the distraction.

She is kickin it ~ if you haven’t seen the 16 minute interview google it up ~ Bachmann was crushing it! Every question, every interruption.

I only caught the entire interview because of the buzz created last 20 seconds ~ Wallace’s stupid question.

"....she wasn't accepting the apology of....Chris Wallace, who asked her...if she was a "flake.""

I always thought Chris (unlike his father) was pretty-much non-partisan, until now.
This type of comment is beneath him - would he ask this of Romney, or even Gingrich for that matter?

Good for her. Wallace is a jerk, an I don’t plan to ever watch his show again!

I agree that he can be a real jerk and sometimes sleazy at times. I quit watching his circus on Sunday mornings because of all the middle of the roadkill talking heads he has as his round table of talking head pundits about 18 months ago. He and his merry band of RINO co-horts speak for the mushy middle and left left leaning libtards but certainly not serious minded conservatives.

And he didn't insult Ms Bachmann on his web page but rather in person and then he further insults by not going to her in person asking for forgiveness. Oh wait, he didn't ask for forgiveness did he?! He mouthed a mealy mouthed apology. About par for the course.

Wallace did help Bachman by asking the question. Why? Because Bachman answered it perfectly. No one needs to ask Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Wasserman-Shultz, Wiener, etc. if they are flakes. That is a given fact, clear & simple!!!

If you watch Wallace’s apology, you will note that the only real reason that he apologized was because a bunch of Fox Viewers set his email on fire.

Even he admitted that.

It was not a sincere apology.

Guess Wallace won’t be asking PALIN if she’s a ‘flake’ when she announces!

Wallace should look in the mirror if he is serious about finding out who the real flake is.
