Bachmann doesn't accept apology for 'flake' question By Michael O'Brien - 06/27/11 08:10 AM ET

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said she wasn't accepting the apology of Fox anchor Chris Wallace, who asked her Sunday if she was a "flake."

Bachmann rejected an apology from Wallace, who challenged whether the Tea Party-aligned congresswoman was serious in her bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

"I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious," Bachmann said in an interview on ABC when asked about Wallace's apology, which he posted online.

"Those are the small issues," Bachmann said when specifically pressed about whether she accepted the apology. "I'm focused on the big one."

A weekend poll of likely Republican caucusgoers in Iowa showed that she was in contention for the nomination in Iowa, and her performance at a New Hampshire debate earlier this month has political observers buzzing with speculation that the three-term congresswoman might just make a credible run for the nomination.

Not smart to make this an issue, just accept the apology and move on.

Why does anyone need to “accept” an apology? If someone was wrong they should apologize and then shut up.

IF ONLY Ms. Bachmann had LOUDLY publicly apologized
to Gov. Palin. IF ONLY, she would ROCK today.

BUT NO.

Ms. Bachmann-Romney was Rollinized.

Hypocrite Bachmann gave NO public apology to Gov. Palin
so it seems karma has run over her RINO dogma.

Great set up by Bachmann!

Guess Wallace won’t be asking PALIN if she’s a ‘flake’ when she announces!

Why do ‘Journalists’ feel that it is okay to put down republican candidates, but consider it racist to say anything bad about a Democratic candidate?

This $hit has got to stop.

He thought long and hard about that word and decided it was worth the gotcha clip. He likely planned and apology figuring it was worth the high fives around the Country Club cooler.

Does anyone watch 'news entertainment' anymore? FoxNews is quickly becoming CNN-lite. FoxNews' agenda is out of alignment with conservative Americans. Why are they intent on shooting down true conservatives? Their fool talking-heads will play the McLame game again this election cycle.

"I think that it's insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious," Bachmann said in an interview on ABC when asked about Wallace's apology, which he posted online.

It was brazen and very insulting for Wallace to call Bachmann a flake. It is standard procedure for the increasingly crude and shallow, low class, and juvenile media in this country to be crass and insulting and then offer a written apology. It is predictable, tedious, and repetitious of the media these days. Such behavior is consistent with a dumbed down country, IMO.

Why should she accept a shallow, meaningless, and predictable apology?

Someone got a link to the actual comments that Michele Bachmann made? Methinks she said (paraphrased) that “it’s not a matter of accepting or rejecting an ‘apology’ for a breach of etiquette. It’s a matter of taking the larger issues I am voicing seriously.” I.e. a warning that she is not going to just sit there and let more guff go unanswered.

She doesn’t accept his apology, good for her for not playing nice like the GOP elite wants.

She apologizes for saying obama is unamerican; well, one awshit wipes out 10,000 attaboys and she managed to wipe out the one good for her with light speed.

Her advisors with the poll stats and their fealty oaths to the GOP elite stuffed up their arses need to be fired.
