ABC News Sheila Marikar (@SheilaYM) reports:
While a cinematic love letter to Sarah Palin is set to debut in Iowa Tuesday night, a more critical film about the former Alaska governor is in the works.
British filmmaker Nick Broomfield is shopping a documentary that examines Palin's life and rise to prominence through interviews with her parents, friends, colleagues such as ex-legislative director John Bitney, ex-Senate president Lyda Green, ex brother-in-law Mike Wooten and many more.
In a preview clip from the film, Bitney and Green bemoan Palins habit of using her Blackberry during meetings.
It was frustrating at times to set up a meeting with legislative leadership to talk about a piece of legislation or a bill or an issue or something that needed to be worked out, and the whole time, she would be doing this, Bitney says, motioning his thumbs as if using a Blackberry. He adds that Palin was just very unengaged in the conversation and often, she wasnt listening.
Green echoes his sentiments.
I never felt that Sarah was ever connected to the business in the building, going around the Capitol, she says. She generally had her two Blackberries and was texting most of the time.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as yet untitled film is screening for buyers this week in Los Angeles and may premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Stephen K. Bannons The Undefeated, which premieres in Iowa Tuesday and rolls out nationwide July 15, also chronicles Palins life and political rise through interviews with those close to her, but takes a staunchly pro-Palin stance.
Broomfield is known for documentaries that offer unconventional takes on famous subjects, including 1998's Kurt & Courtney, which asked if Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain's 1994 suicide was really a murder.
The long knives are out.
I believe it was John Bitney who was dismissed supposedly because of poor job performance but in reality because he lied to Sarah about his affair with the wife of one of the Palin’s closest friends.

With all due respect, yet another misconception.
Never assume that the highest “rank” in the room (and believe me, she wasn’t always) is the “head person” in the meeting. That falls on the person/people who CALLED the meeting and set the agenda, period.
Yep, same in law school. Multitaksers just take lesser intellects by surprise because the slow kids think, “if I can’t do that, then no one could do that,” but the fast kids can.
So yeah, this movie sounds really devastating so far /sarc.
Bunch of whiney slow kids complaining about not getting enough attention from the fast kid. Hmmm. I sense a theme developing here, ex this, ex that. I wonder if the slowness and the ex-ness are related ....
How about The Unfunded? Has a nice Palinesque rip-off ring to it. Better check with Me-too from Waterloo first though, she might have dibs.
HA..HA....you figured out the disarming ability of many women!!!!
Some British Filmmaker Wastes a Bunch of Money Making an Anti-Palin Movie
Just because these dip wads did not think she was listening to their BS does not mean that she was not. She assesses, and dismisses. HAH!
Toss up for most ridiculous: The reliance on a disgruntled “ex brother in law” or complaints about someone using their blackberry during meetings. Now there’s a new one! /s The entire Earth is addicted to Blackberries/Androids/Iphones, etc.
The same media that trashes Palin told us obama was a genius...
Palin Derangement Syndrome hits the film producing world.
I think that one should be done on Barrak Hussein Obama.
The nature of the PDSer
In a time not so very long ago, a man of logic, reason and rationality, upset by the injustice of the mindless and their baseless attacks upon his candidate of choice, did undertake a quest to discover the nature of the PDSer.
And so did the man travel to the far corners of the Earth, for in his travels he could find no wisdom, nor wise man, to satisfactorily explain the root cause of Palin Derangement Syndrome, nor its effect on those so smitten. It was not until a chance encounter with a Zen Master high atop a remote mountain in Tibet that our hero found his answer.
To discover the nature of the PDSer, said the Zen Master, One must understand the logic of why the sky is yellow.
Confused by the sage words of the old wise man, our hero listened intently as the knowledge of the ages sprung forth from his old and weathered lips...
To discover the nature of the PDSer, One must understand the fact that dogs meow and cats bark at passing cars.
To discover the nature of the PDSer, One must understand the reason why the sun shines brightly in the night sky.
For what seemed like hours the Zen Master spoke thusly until finally our hero looked upon him and said Master, dogs do not meow, nor cats bark. The sky is not yellow but blue and the sun shines in it by day, not by night. To spout such nonsense is neither logical, nor rational, nor factual. In fact, youd have to be nuts to believe any of that!
And so did our hero gain enlightenment into the nature of the PDSer.
Aha!
GOOD find!
And that Lydia Green person was an opponent in the Republican CBC (Corrupt Bastard Club) that has been engaged in trashing her for years.
If you’ve ever seen her, you’d understand that she is one of those narrow-minded, gossipy, insecure old shrews like Peach in Lonesome Dove.
Wow - ABC just can’t let it go.
What a bunch of losers.
Note that they are adverising (and repeating the hit amd run material) something that isn’t even sold yet -
They will do ANYTHING to smear Palin.
Glad they’re frustrated, they should be.
The writer is a staffer at HuffPo who writes of Kanye West and about pop culture.
More teeny bopper PC Lib vomit.
In the case of a PDSer it’s the sound of one mouth crapping ;)
BTW, what happened to your grand fishing expedition for dirt?
Now you're complaining she's multitasking?
"L" is for "Democrat."
Cheers!
