Obama regulatory czar claims Bush was worse on rules

President Obama's regulatory czar told a Capitol Hill gathering Tuesday that the administration has produced fewer burdensome rules for industry than did the administration of President George W. Bush.

"There is no tsunami" of regulations, said Cass Sunstein, administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, at a symposium on innovation on Capitol Hill, rejecting complaints from the business community and congressional Republicans that the administration's regulatory policies had harmed the economy and cost U.S. jobs.

Industry leaders have complained about the growth of costly regulations under Mr. Obama. It was U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Donohue who first called the new round of regulations — on banking, health care, energy and the environment — under Mr. Obama a "tsunami."

But Mr. Sunstein argued that the administration is streamlining rules and relations of some 30 executive agencies. "The annual cost of regulations has not increased during the Obama administration," he said. "In its last two years, executive agencies in the Bush administration proposed far higher regulatory costs than did those agencies in the Obama administration in our first two years."

This reverse blame strategy is classic liberal democrat and right out of the Alinsky rules for radicals book; truth becomes the lie and the offender cries of being the victim. Evil perpetuates it and fools follow in blind belief.

The fact that we have a regulatory czar is proof enough that this statement is false.

How about the regulatory regime that refused drilling permits and directly caused oil prices to “necessarily skyrocket”?? As a small business owner who ships via UPS and FedEx, I await the fuel surcharge to increase. Not to mention, my insurance cost went up by 40% this past year and I dread renewal time. Didn’t the One say if we like our insurance?? Not going to keep mine.

I bet if we asked energy companies, they would tell us. The new EPA rules will cause electric rates to skyrocket and their proposed CAFE rules - who knows how much that will cost.

Furthermore, the new, improved hen house is much quieter, and also cleaner. The Hen Czar promises to announce later what to do about the egg shortage, and how he plans to clean up blood stains all over the hen house floor, but he just ate, so the press conference will have to continue later.

The position of Czar is unconstitutional, a get around to required Senate approval for agency heads.

I believe therefore that every Czar is a criminal, including this one, who acts just like a criminal.

This is probably a lie, but it wouldn’t surprise me if this was true. Lydon Baines Bush was the king of the RINOS when it came to spending, entitlement and regulatory expansion.

LOL! You said it! Good thing for us it was all done "compassionately."

Has anyone concluded, like Beck did long time ago, that Cass Sunstein is a flat out IDIOT?! =.=
