There are Federally mandated monthly radiation exposure rates for medical personnel who are required to wear exposure badges. How many scans can an individual be put through if they are a frequent flyer? Should they wear exposure badges also?

If you do the calculations based on resolution, detector sensitivity etc... The dose is closer to 1/50 to 1/20 th of a chest x-ray. Further the “effective” dose used by TSA/DHS/MFG is a measure of internal organ cancer risk not applicable to backscatter. Your skin, breast, testicles[2] absorb 85% of the less penetrating[1] backscatter x-rays making the “effective” dose appear so small. New powerful(100x) full “total recall” transmission x-ray tunnel scanners[3] are being deployed in jails and airports.
