BTW, union reps at Boston’s Logan airport have discovered a cluster of cancer cases among TSA workers (scanner operators).
Ironically it may be the TSA unions that put the kibosh on unmonitored scanners and grope-happy policies.
I ought to feel bad about that. Realistically, it's probably coincidence.
IIRC the cancer cluster email is about a year old; it wasn’t clear from what was in the FOIA stuff if these were backscatter operators or luggage scanners, or what-? I did read (you too maybe) that BOS was one of the first places to get backscatters.
If this is backscatter related, then it means in another year or two this may be replicated a lot more places, which is a start towards getting rid of these almost-certainly medically dangerous machines.
