Although, come to think of it, I haven't heard of many such events this summer as in the more carefree past.
I think a combination of high ticket prices, bad economy and a growing fear in many folks of being in big crowds will be shutting a high percentage of outdoor entertainment events down.
The rock bands, rapper, singers of contemporary "music" (ugh) and various ga-ga groups have to be hurting big time. I doubt there's many bookings for huge outdoor concerts as in the past. Since so many of them are lefties, evironmental whackos, starry-eyed idealists and vacant-minded Obama voters, I suspect a diminishing or disappearing income will be a wake-up call to some of them concerning that hopey, changey thing.
I wonder what "Taste of Chicago" (huge, multiple-days, outdoor food festival along the lake-front park area) will be like this summer. I wouldn't go there for a million dollars.
