US pop star Lady Gaga is accused of misrepresenting charitable donations from wristbands sold to benefit tsunami and earthquake victims in Japan this year. The complaint, filed in a Michigan court on Friday by 1800lawfirm, says the star as well as her record label, Universal Music Group, and the Bravado International Group, lacked transparency surrounding the amount of money that was raised from sales of the wristbands and whether those funds were 100 per cent allocated to earthquake and tsunami victims.

Ah, glad to see that such a venerable and well-esteemed firm is on the case!

I'm not going to fault Lady Gaga who's heart, I'm sure, was in the right place. Nonetheless, celebrity charities have become so problematic (with the celebs typically having no idea how the charities they lend their names to are run) that Rolling Stone magazine recently did an article suggesting people do exactly as you mentioned --donate to established charities.
This being said, I'm sure 1800lawfirm are a real upstanding bunch of folks.
Be careful about the use of the word "She".
