Teachers win layoff protection while school finance officials see their powers curtailed in the state budget package Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to sign today.

The last-minute school legislation, Assembly Bill 114, emerged publicly less than an hour before lawmakers approved it in a late-evening Tuesday session. It reflects the negotiating muscle of teachers as Democratic lawmakers crafted their majority-vote budget with a governor of their own party.

Everybody takes massive hits in the latest Golden State budget. Everybody, that is, except for the union thugs who got Moonbeam elected.

I work at a school district, as a contractor mind you, and this article contains some of the most ridiculous language I can think of.

Operate the schools assuming you will receive the funding later?

Single stupidest thing I've seen all year.

Math will win and the “education” majors will loose.

It’s just a matter of time.

I’ve got the popcorn out to watch.

With a big smile.

Brown is the most loyal slut the SEIU could ever hope to have. The only thing missing is the stilleto heels & fishnet stockings.

For all we know, those are there, too.

Unfortunately, this is where the climate fits my clothes.

For the difference in taxes and cost of living, you can purchase climate appropriate clothing and have a healthy surplus long into the future. My house in Idaho is free and clear. The difficult task is finding gainful employment in the new location.

I hate to be the one to say it, but why would California parents fund the very institutiohn that is mentally abusing their precious children? Because it is eeeeezier than taking the time and effort to homeschool. So the country is dealt another mortal blow! For these kids are the future!

It may be possible to homeschool where you live but here it takes two incomes to avoid economic destitution.
