Harvard: July 4th Parades Are Right-Wing (say Dems politicans gains nothing by going)

Democratic political candidates can skip this weekend's July 4th parades. A new Harvard University study finds that July 4th parades energize only Republicans, turn kids into Republicans, and help to boost the GOP turnout of adults on Election Day.

"Fourth of July celebrations in the United States shape the nation's political landscape by forming beliefs and increasing participation, primarily in favor of the Republican Party," said the report from Harvard.

"The political right has been more successful in appropriating American patriotism and its symbols during the 20th century. Survey evidence also confirms that Republicans consider themselves more patriotic than Democrats.

According to this interpretation, there is a political congruence between the patriotism promoted on Fourth of July and the values associated with the Republican party. Fourth of July celebrations in Republican dominated counties may thus be more politically biased events that socialize children into Republicans," write Harvard Kennedy School Assistant Professor David Yanagizawa-Drott and Bocconi University Assistant Professor Andreas Madestam.

Their findings also suggest that Democrats gain nothing from July 4th parades, likely a shocking result for all the Democratic politicians who march in them.

Leftist scum wil find our 4th of July plans absolutely terrifying: We’re going to have an ATF party – alcohol, tobacco and firearms, that is, but not necessarily in that order. Our friends the Manns live on top of Hoodoo Mountain, so we’ll have a sweeping view of the entire valley all the way to Coeur d’Alene – thus we’ll be able to see every town’s fireworks display. I’m taking Little Flash 1.0 and 2.0 to the parade, just as I do every year. Last year there was a 90-year old Pearl Harbor Survivor who marched all three miles of parade.

If he is there this year, I am going to stand the kids up, and say, “Look and remember. When you are as old as I am, you’ll be able to say you saw a guy who was at Pearl Harbor when it all went down.”

I was on Harvard campus last fall. It didn't feel like an American school. The majority of students were Asian.

Harvard University must be the nexus of stupid people. Just because a person claims to be a Dem, doesn’t mean that person is any less patriotic than his neighbor. Of course, if they’re going to play politics, all party’s can stay away.

Actually, yes it does mean that they are less patriotic. They have spent the last decade making that exact argument. You can’t try to redefine patriotism to mean paying more taxes and then try to tell me that they are partriotic.

Democrats (Every single last one of them) is an enemy to me and an enemy to our Republic. I mean enemy in the strongest terms.

Conservatives and Republicans have the 4th of July in order to celebrate the Founding of the United States

and the Progressives and the Democrats have Earth Day to celebrate the birth of the Father of Communism, Valdimir Lenin.

This is the way it is.

Just about every conservative I have ever known is extremely patriotic and the 4th of July is an important holiday for them.

Just about every left-wing progressive I know is a greenie and Earth day is the most important holiday to them. It is also no mistake that earth day is also Valdimir Lenin’s (he Father of commnuism)birthday.

Conservatives celebrate America and Freedom while Progressives celebrate Internationalism and Socialism.

Having marched with GOP candidates/incumbents in many 4th of July parades over the last 25 years, I can assure you that our presence did nada in terms of Election day turnout.

“July the 4th 1776 is certainly not a holiday for those who admire socialism or any form of statism. July the 4th 1776 is about the individual, Independence and freedom. Concepts at war with the needs of socialism and what liberals define as “equality” of outcomes.”

It would be more appropriate for them to wait 10 days and celebrate Bastille Day, which started a bloody orgy of statism and socialism in France, and they’re still a bit hung over from it today....
