Conservatives hail it and liberals dispute the story, but one thing is certain about the Lone Star State's employment success: The number is real.
According to the Dallas Fed, Texas generated 43% of the net new jobs in the U.S. from June 2009 through May 2011 - an enormous share when you consider that the Lone Star State accounts for about 8% of the nation's economy.
...conservatives were quick to celebrate, embracing the jobs tally as powerful evidence of the superiority of Republican ideas as well as proof that Texas Gov. Rick Perry would make a good president.
Texas is attracting businesses, in part, because it has low taxes.
it is clear that the state's limits on taxes, regulations and lawsuits are contributing to the job machine.

All part and parcel of the Republican plan to sabotage the United States economy.
Your tagline is sadly accurate. “Obama goes on long after the thrill of Obama is gone”

Five and a half years, my ass......
Yep, that and a President and Congress who sees it the same way and push for it and defend it.
I’m glad he’s so confident. That’s how we want him.
We are already being overrun by liberals and illegals in Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Certainly don’t need any more.
Yeah, but what we’ll get is a lot of liberals swarming from the ruins of California to Texas like locusts, where they’ll get jobs and houses, and then proceed to vote in the same kind of failed welfare-state policies and politicians that have destroyed California.
Austin is already going in the toilet. It’s a Lib mecca.

He credits this growth to a few simple conditions: low taxes, a regulatory climate that is fair and predictable, and a legal system that limits frivolous lawsuits. According to the Wall Street Journal, nearly one-fourth of the 70 companies that left California this year relocated to Texas.
When new or relocating companies and investors survey the landscape and consider Montana, what do they see? Well, when it comes to natural-resource development, the landscape looks risky.
.
Want to know about Dallas/Ft Worth growth - AT&T, Verizon, Nokia, RIM, Texas Inst. all ajor players in cell and wireless how much growth happened there - these folks came to the area a long time ago. Then there is the explosion caused by slant drilling in the Barnet Shale which is now spreading across America. This happened without Perry or any other government person helping. Finally how many kids play video games - created by or sold by Dallas based companies 80%. Take away any of those and the stories look a little less compelling.
The people came because of the setup for business then they came to be near the other players. Heck we have probably built more food emporiums...grocery or dining than all other jobs in the country - just to service the folks working in the above named companies.

For every silver lining, there's a cloud, eh, LA Times?
California's safety net is so large it's basically a hammock.
You telling me there's no poverty in California? You telling me there are no Californians without health insurance?
