Good, we still owe the skinnies some payback.

Master Sergeant Gary Ivan Gordon (August 30, 1960 – October 3, 1993) is a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor. At the time of his death, he was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army's premiere special operations unit, the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1SFOD-D), or “Delta Force.” Together with Sergeant First Class Randy Shughart, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for actions he performed during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993.

Sergeant First Class Randall ‘Randy’ David Shughart (August 13, 1958–October 3, 1993) was a soldier in the United States Army special operations unit, the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1SFOD-D), or “Delta Force.” Shughart posthumously received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993.

If we can take out insurgents in Somalia why can’t we take out pirates?

“Good, we still owe the skinnies some payback.”

As long as we don’t go in with the same ROE as the last Charlie Foxtrot.

Sad but true. Oddly I do not think 0 wants a war failure to occur in the next ten months. He will probably listen closer than he did on Afcrapistan. Guy has got himself directly between the rock and the hard spot. Kadaffiduck is thumbing his nose at the West. Kinda funny if there wasn't people dying.

A tribute to these two great heroes.

Caution, there is some foul language, but Bad Ass of the Week is one of my favorite websites.

Thanks for that. I passed it down my email chain.

Thank God for men like that.

BTW I had the pleasure of meeting Micheal Durant when he was on book tour. What a great guy.

Apparently we still have some men in the military that are running ops that are very at odds with Obamas interests.

It’s like we have two governments. One busting balls and one kissing ass.

The tempo of operations in Pakistan is stunning and a direct juxtaposition to our weak NATO lead position in Afghanistan.
Our men in Afghanistan have their hands tied, yet we are running constant strikes into Waziristan with no international blow back.

Our positions on Libya and Egypt also are most curious.

And why do we keep getting details on all these spec ops?
This is shit know one should ever hear about.
What was up with all the detail on the Bin Laden operation?

Something stinks on ice.

At least with the Soviet Union their foreign policy was somewhat predictable and based on some type of logic. Wrong, but logical. It's painful watching the various spokespersons at the White House, State Department and Pentagon try and explain why our Nobel Peace Prize winner is attacking six different countries right now.

“You are an idiot.”

So, apparently, you are in favor of hussein using our military whenever he feels the need for a distraction for his failures at home?

I'm not discounting Obama being a complete idiot since he is, but my gut tells me that somebody in the military/intelligence community asks that certain things be leaked out, and I think it's an effort to put bad guys on the move or flush them out. If you've got a lot of bad guys holed up in places where you can't find them, if you can get them to go on the move, or increase their courier or cell phone activity, you've just increased your chances of spotting them.

If we are going after legit terrorists, I have no problem with operations like this. They were happening under Bush and none of us was raising a fuss, and they are happening now. The only difference is that we are hearing a little more about them under Obama. Still hard to say whether it's Obama being an idiot or somebody in the military or intelligence community wanting to flush these guys out and generate courier/phone activity.

Same here. Chief Durrant was at the Fort Knox PX and my dad and I went out, bought the book, and got it autographed. An amazing guy.

Blam: Title of a movie to be made about this operation:

“Invasion of the Friendly Body Snatchers”

The movie’s theme song (modified) by Patsy Cline:

about the enemy, “You Go to Pieces”

Enjoy the show!

The axe was OK, but for serious social interaction I preferred this...

A lot more versatile. Its all in the wrist. (I recommend the bottom model...and some black shoe polish.)

I was EOD....had an obligation to carry a Randall 14 after I busted a few dozen fixed blades issued.

I have Kukri’s I picked up in Pakistan in the 80’s that are solid and very very sharp. Parangs made from spring steel in the Philippines and Thailand. All good for specific purposes but the Randall 14 was my favorite and still is . Been through a bunch of replacement sheaths etc .... now it’s just my hunting and go bag tool.

Stay Safe !
