French Writer Tristane Banon Accuses Dominique Strauss-Kahn of Attempted Rape

The lawyer of French novelist Tristane Banon says she will file a lawsuit accusing former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape.

Tristane Banon's lawyer David Koubbi said the lawsuit will be filed in Paris on Tuesday.

He said the complaint will relate to an incident that took place when Banon went to interview Strauss-Kahn in an apartment in Paris.

Banon was 22 at the time. She has already publicly discussed the incident, saying Strauss-Kahn acted like a "chimpanzee on heat".

Strauss-Kahn was arrested in New York in May on charges that he tried to sexually assault a hotel maid. Strauss-Kahn, who denied wrongdoing, was released without bail last week after questions emerged about the maid's credibility.

Background:

Tristane Banon, the 31-year-old god-daughter of Strauss-Kahn’s second wife Brigitte Guillemette, said he attacked her almost a decade ago. Ms Banon will now tell French detectives about the alleged attempted rape, which took place in an anonymous studio flat in Paris in 2002.

Strauss-Kahn lured the then 21-year-old trainee journalist to the property under the promise of an interview, and then started to rip her clothes off, it is claimed.

‘I kicked him, I called him a rapist, he didn’t seem to care,’ said Ms Banon in earlier interviews, in which she also described Strauss-Kahn as acting like a ‘rutting chimpanzee’.

Ms Banon’s mother, Anne Mansouret, said the only reason she did not press charges at the time was because 'she was just starting out in journalism' and was afraid of being 'defined by the story' of being attacked by a senior politician.

Banon came out during the NYC incident, where the maid is said being deported and was called a prostitute as well..leaving some suspect that money can change the outcome..Banon was waiting til after the US case, but with the present situation decided to go after him tomorrow. Strauss-Kahn has a history of "going after" women as those in government connected with him said that they would not be in the same room with him alone from experiences they have had with him.

Miss Banon interviewed Mr Strauss-Kahn in 2003 for her book, Errors Admitted. But her editor, the Telegraphed reported, removed a chapter in which she recounts her "interview" with the former French finance minister which took place in a garret flat with a bed.

In the extract, she says he gave her a boring "compilation of TV declarations without interest". "The atmosphere became heavy," she goes on cryptically. "All I wanted to do was leave. I ended up doing so half an hour later with a promise to return which I would not keep." Her account is nothing like as graphic as the one she gave in 2007 on a French cable TV chat show, the story said. Perhaps someone needs to take him down for his actions, as his career goes on and is considered for President? If anything, the satisfaction of seeing this guy exposed for what he is is justice so the next one will not be discredited. Maybe now was the time when she would be BELIEVED.

Clinton is an prime example of being able to come out on top after numerous allegations and caught in his lies; he is just better looking, has the charisma and is successful in make people forget and move on. Clinton still holds "the power". Even being called son-like to Bingsh, Sr. A different image than the red-eyed and bloated Strauss-Kahn. His wife is a former star TV presenter and art heiress- what she sees in this cad with a history of abuse, I wonder.
