I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. I didn’t watch O.J.’s trial, and normally I don’t follow any trial all that closely, but I think what drives many, including myself, to watch this one is that fact that this adorable and innocent child needs and deserves justice.

I find myself asking why do such horrible things happen to people such as Caylee, good and innocence itself personified. The answer is because evil exists. I can see it plain as day on the face of her mother. Evil deserves justice too, swift and harsh, and so I watch, praying that justice will be done.

I don’t mean to be too preachy, but essentially, this trial boils down to a battle between Good and Evil for me.

Casey was declared indigent and the state is paying for her defense and has been for quite some time. She was declared indigent March 2010.

Someone else reported that Cindy gave an interviewer a tour of her house while Caylee was first missing. She reported that Cindy was smiling and seemed relaxed.

I disliked Cindy the first time she appeared on The Today Show. She was gussied up and preening. I thought: what kind of grandmother behaves like that? Then the lynch mobs started showing up outside her house (something I found sinister beyond belief), she went back on The Today Show looking haggard.

Cindy also wanted 15 minutes of fame. She’s now gotten 3-4 years of it. What’s that saying about unanswered prayers?!

What? Are you saying all of that isn’t true? ;)

I don’t know anyone like that, but I’ve heard of them. Don’t they also go to Startrek conventions?

Just for the record, Elvis is sleeping in the sun on the back porch right now. (Yeah, I named my cat “Elvis.”)

I share your concern regarding that.

I think it got introduced BECAUSE of the existence of a pool, the chem analysis of the car AND because the chlorine used in a pool is part of the formula for chloroform. I believe the other component is nail polish remover.

In other words, a wet bathing suit, towel might have left that "residue".

And lets hope it is LWOP. I like the idea of the little dummy sitting in her cell for about 70 years thinking about what she did... And I am hoping that the Jury was close, so let them eat those sandwiches, send the twit up the river and let the jury get home at a decent hour...

Casey never incorporates truth to her lies - I guess she’s the exception that proves the rule. No evidence anyone was in the pool at the time of the little girl’s death. It should never have been in the opening arguments. Dumb.

I think my mom handled most infractions with what I call “the look.” I don’t recall her (or any of us) using the language I hear in the Anthony family. But then, I’m older than dirt, and this is a different time.

I agree with LWOP. If a jury decides the verdict before lunch, say at 11:34am, you don’t get to take the sandwiches home! That happened to me during my first time as juror. What a gyp!

You are absolutely correct. Juries are spoiled, they expect a ‘smoking gun’ forensically, answers to ALL questions, and evidence beyond ALL doubt, and that just isn’t what the law requires.

I get so sick of people who can’t understand the difference between reasonable doubt and no doubt at all.

In all the publicity about this case, I have never heard about how Casey has been supporting herself the years of Caylee’s short life. She did NOT have a job, yet she dressed well and dressed her child well. In other testimony (that was suppressed for this trial) she stole money and checks from her mother, from her grandmother, from a roommate, and who knows where else. I think Casey has already been convicted of some of those crimes. If not, they are still pending. The jury was not allowed to hear about those crimes.

Yet, Casey lived a rather lavish lifestyle that can’t totally be explained by Cindy’s largesse. Where was she getting her money? Wasn’t the summer of 2008 the period when gasoine hit $4 a gallon the last time? The period just before the economy hit the fan?

I saw the attorney, Wendy Murphy, commenting on this on Geraldo this past weekend. I had to scramble to find the remote so that I could turn off the sound (I hate Geraldo) but I heard Murphy’s charges before I changed stations.

Murphy used to always be part of Nancy Grace’s panels on other cases. She is the brunette with long hair who is rather sarcastic in her comments. Anyhow, she was over the top in her comments this past weekend. Murphy flat stated that we are not hearing the real case from either side in this trial.

Murphy stated that there is a lot of evidence that has been suppressed — pictures, witnesses, etc. Murphy thinks that Casey has been “pimping out” Caylee. Murphy thinks that Caylee was getting to the age where she could no longer be kept quiet — that eventually Caylee would reveal what was going on in Casey’s hidden life.

Also, did all of you realize that Casey lead her former fiance into believing that Caylee was his child for almost 2 years before that lie was revealed?

We don’t have TV, so I’ve been watching it via live stream through the OC Sentinel.

I have “a look” too - my daughter told me once she used it while babysitting - lol No need to scold, just give them the look and they would mind. lol

Except that no one ever talked about wet bathing suits or chlorine or towels. If they had, we might have bought the idea! I think they should have hired you - you’re smarter than Baez, lol.

I have heard it brought up ONCE in all the years I watched trials, and I don’t even remember what case it was, but basically the prosecution, in closing arguments went on about how what they see on TV regarding the 100% smoking gun isn’t reality.

Cindy also wanted 15 minutes of fame. She’s now gotten 3-4 years of it.

She will have a lifetime of "fame". I would hate to be her.
