Ginsburg's Non-Retirement a 2012 Pro-Life Election Opportunity
Washington, DC -- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the five members who constitute the pro-abortion majority on the nation's highest court, insists she will not retire anytime soon. Her decision could set up a 2012 election opportunity for the pro-life movement.

I must say that I have been shocked to hear that some liberal/radical types want Ginsburg to retire now, so Obama can appoint a younger liberal as a replacement.
I even read one article where someone urged both Ginsburg and Steven Breyer to step down, so Obama could appoint two new younger liberals, who could be on the court for decades.
Ginsburg has given her life in service to the liberal agenda. She was general counsel for the ACLU before she was a judge and a Supreme Court justice. It shocks me to think that this is the thanks she gets? Today’s liberal/radical types want to get rid of someone so that a younger replacement will be in place regardless of what happens in the 2012 election.
So she’s outlived her usefulness to the liberal cause? How callous can the liberals be?
If Obama looks about to lose, she will announce her retirement so that the Dems can choose her successor.
But timing could be an issue. If she makes this decision in the summer of 2012, this would be a major campaign issue. And politics could actually influence Obama to pick somebody more moderate, so as to avoid a huge Supreme Court confirmation battle right before the election.
Since there are 47 Republicans, and still a few more moderate Democrats in the Senate, some of whom are up for re-election in 2012, Obama might have a huge fight on his hands if he was trying to nominate someone who was very very liberal. Just saying that this could be a political headache if it happens in the summer of 2012.
You can at least say that she is not Barry's stooge.

I agree with you. I’m hoping it has something to do with the little toad attacking the Supremes during the State of the Union. She didn’t say anything, but her head snapped up and she looked shocked. I’m hoping to God she understood in that moment what malicious destruction he was unleashing.
Of course, I also wouldn’t be surprised if she gave in to the rotten destruction after all. Their theology is the same—it’s possible that she just can’t hack the methods.
She might retire after the election, and allow Obama to try to push through a successor in the lame-duck session. If Obama loses in 2012, chances are the Dems would have lost more seats in the Senate.
But would it be too late to get a replacement thru a divided Senate?

I have zero respect for Justice Ginsburg. She is a full-fledged 100% New York leftist. Have you listened to some of her more recent interviews? As a SCOTUS justice, she thinks her role is not to interpret the Constitution but to make reasonable decisions based on her experience and sage judgment, much like the Hebrew justices of old. I expect she thinks this makes her wiser than strict constructionists, and it certainly explains why her ideological compatriots could find both a right to privacy AND a right to abortion in the Constitution.

The buzzard is prolly getting a lot of pressure from powerful Leftists to step down now. So don’t be surprised if she suddenly has a “change of heart”.
