The unions have to offer them a bit of kibble, at least, in order to keep them going. Back in Jimmy Carter’s day, the Democrats would have been less brassy about this because they nominally supported a credo that they won’t implement policies that “increase unemployment.” Now the Bummer folks don’t even worry about the irony of diluting the workforce and enhancing the welfare burden of the country. They got away with enough open lies; why not this.
