Texas thumbed its nose at the White House and the United Nations on Tuesday as it cleared the way for Thursday's execution of Humberto Leal Garcia Jr., a Mexican national who was denied access to his nation's consulate after being arrested for a San Antonio rape-murder.

“Was the “girl” an American or Mexican citizen?”

Why does it matter? Murder is murder.

It almost seems that Obama WANTS to run against Perry.

I think that might be true.

Obama wants to call Perry "Bush II," since Perry was Bush's Lt. Governor and his successor. That way, Obama can rerun the 2008 campaign and make it about Bush again.

Obama will call Perry "Lt. Bush" and ask Americans if they want to go back to the Bush policies that got us here.

As the comedian Ron White said, “ You come to Texas and kill us, we’ll kill you back.”

Not sure, her first name is of Italian origin while her last name is Spanish. But keep in mind that Texas has a large population of Spanish origin families who have lived there since long before Texas was a state.

Besides which, it doesn't matter if she's a citizen or not, legal or not, she was murdered in the state of Texas and the Lone Star State will see that justice is done.

Perry had not made a decision by Tuesday evening, Perry spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger said in an emailed statement, adding, “That said, if you commit the most heinous of crimes in Texas, you can expect to face the ultimate penalty under our laws, as in this case, where Leal was convicted of raping and bludgeoning a 16-year-old girl to death.”

Great point. The left got their collective panties in a bunch over Arizona’s recent illegal alien invader law. They become apoplectic at the notion of inquiring as to a law-breakers legal status. Now saps like leaky would have us verify status in an effort to frustrate prosecution of criminal behavior.

I know libs are wishy-washy but this is ridiculous!

In the event the Supreme Court fails to act, the Republican governor of Texas, Rick Perry – who may seek the GOP Presidential nomination next year – might intervene.

If Perry gets involved, Leal’s days will be numbered.
In his decade in power, Perry has rejected clemency in 230 executions in the state.

She was sixteen years old and brutally raped and murdered. She was a human being snuffed out before her time by this animal. Her citizenship status is irrelevant.

OK, we compromise, we finish off this dirt bag and then send to Mexico those who were involved in the decision to go forward with the gun walker matter. In fact, we can start at the top.

Cowboys are debating a name change. 2 options on the table are Possums and tampons.

Possums: because they play dead at home and get killed on the road.
Tampons: because they’re only good for one period and don’t have a 2nd string

Texas uses the needle. Thank you, nonetheless, for your suggestion to conserve energy. I, for one, would like to have seen Old Sparky brought back for one final hurrah. If it didn’t work the first time, just keep at it until this rabid animal was finally put down.

Plus if TX required police to ask a Hispanic about his citizenship status, the Feds would then say that TX was acting illegally.

Obama siding with the rapist of a 16 year old was not smart.

Agreed. It's something that, for example, Bill Clinton would have avoided. Obama let his emotions get the better of him.

'If you come here and kill one of us, We. Will. Kill. You. Back.' Ron White does a great job of explaining justice in Texas.

Indeed, the crime was a parent’s worst nightmare (not to forget the victim).

Does the SC have any jurisdiction ? They’ve already said it’s a state matter until a new law is passed.
