Freed mother set to make a fortune from media interviews... but will family take her back?

Casey Anthony has become the most vilified woman in America, condemned as a compulsive liar and heartless mother who murdered her own daughter so she could spend her life shopping and partying.

But with today's sensational not-guilty verdict, the 25-year-old could be free as early as Thursday morning to begin the slow process of rebuilding her life - and cash in on her new-found celebrity status.

There is already speculation the compelling case could be turned into a movie, and she is likely to be inundated with lucrative television and book deals worth millions of dollars.

Despite the acquittal of capital murder charges, the Casey family lawyer said it was too early to say if they would welcome Casey back.

Speaking after the verdict he said: 'The family hopes that they will be given the time by the media to reflect on this verdict and decide the best way to move forward privately.'

Although Casey smiled and broke into tears of delight as she learned she had escaped the death penalty, she is also likely to face the fear of attack from an angry public who were stunned by the jury's decision.

She will also have to confront her family, which was torn apart after her defence team dramatically accused both her father and brother of sexually abusing her.

[snip]

Countless chat shows will give her the opportunity of telling her story for the first time - an offer she seems likely to take up, after her defence team had to dissuade her from giving testimony at the trial.

And because she has been found not guilty, there is nothing to stop Anthony selling her story to the highest bidder.

I think she will need to get pregnant again in order to get section 8.

I heard Rush say on his show that is exactly what Casey want to do when she gets out...have another baby.

Maybe with a little luck, she will die giving birth so the baby can live......

“I think she will need to get pregnant again . . . “

I expect that’s exactly what she will do.

Why does everyone assume she is going to make money?

Who wants to hear anything from her?

That would indeed be the ultimate karma...

Whether by accident or not...she killed her child. You don’t ducktape a childs mouth. You don’t party for a month while your daughter is missing. The only thing they couldn’t prove was cause and so she got a “not guilty”.

This country is done and has been done for a while now.

Gee, as Zero's friend William Ayers is reported to have said:

"Guilty as sin.

Free as a bird.

Is this some country or what!"

The standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt", not just "a doubt".

See the subtle difference? You could be sitting around all day speculating about how the little girl commited suicide, or got run down by a Home Depot truck loaded with duct tape and trash bags, and so on, but such ideas do not create a "reasonable doubt".

But then who determines what is reasonable???

Try as they might, there was no evidence the girl was murdered...

It seems pretty evident that someone in the family was responsible for the girl's death...Whether it was an intentional death or not intentional, we don't know...The prosecutor just didn't have what he need to close the case...

Very sad case but I agree with the verdict...

The evidence was not there for 1st degree murder...I'm thinking the prosecutor should have tried for a lesser charge knowing that all he had was his ability to sway (or not) a jury...

I don't agree with that and the jury didn't either...

You’re entitled to that opinion.

The prosecutor offered the jury ALL the big ones ~ from Murder One to Manslaughter.

Given the logical flow of things that link all the evidentiary pieces together it is inescapable that this jury didn't wish to make a decision.

Because of that I think this woman was given another chance to kill someone else and she will do so.

The jurors imagine they can avoid knowing the identity of her next victim and they are wrong. She's entirely too famous for that to not be in the news.

Given the success of her last killing she'll try the same technique ~ someone in her custody, then that someone is missing, then that someone's remains are found in a swamp or a sewer.

I have no doubt you will say "No one could have known" and the jurors will say "We could not have known".

I met Tim Miller when he was here searching for Stacy Peterson. The man is a SAINT and would not abandon a search like he did.

He said Cindy did NOT want him there searching.

Tim Miller works endless hours without sleep or food, not that food isn’t available in the searches, but I saw with my own eyes, one of his volunteers following him around forcing spoonfuls of food down him, he didn’t want to stop to waste time eating!!!

They had less evidence in the Scott Peterson case, but that jury did the right thing. They had a parking slip from the marina where he launched his boat.

They didn't have internet searches for chloroform, or neck breaking or even the smell of a decomposing body in the trunk of his car. Yes they had the lies, but he was a narcissist/sociopath too.

I sure hope this decision does not put another person's life in harms way by HER! I wonder if you'd trust her to babysit your kids or grankids???? HUH??

I understand that part of the time she spent in jail was for check fraud and not related to the death of Caylee.

Hopefully she will get some more time behind bars.

The prosecutor offered the jury ALL the big ones ~ from Murder One to Manslaughter.

And the prosecutor didn't provide legitimate evidence for any of it...

The prosecutor's first failure was to keep her in jail for 3 years...He kept her there because he thought he would find something which seems to me to be pushing the limits of the law...

Had she been let out on bond, she likely would have spilled the beans to someone by now...

She was convicted of several lies. She still has some jail time coming.

You haven't been following the little details have you!

Nope...But I'm not going to pull the lever on the electric chair unless I KNOW the person is guilty of murder...

When she kills next let's hope it's one of her jurors and not just some innocent passerby, or another baby.

These people do kill repeatedly.

I really hope you just forgot the sarcasm tag. If not, that's the dumbest idea, ever.

Look, the fact is our Liberal trial by jury has failed us once again.

Can't you read?

So, instead of a having bunch of Liberals who don't have jobs, and are able sit on a jurys decide guilt or innocence, we can have an Internet poll so that people like us can decide.
