Contrary to the expectations of most pundits, the election of Barack Obama has aggravated the racial divide in America between blacks and all other racial groups.

When two or more groups are divided, no rabid member of either group should be the referee to try and put them together...obama is a rabid racist.

And Obama will use the race and ethnicity card in the 2012 election in ways that have never been seen in this nation. It will deeply divide and Balkanize the country for many years to come.

At the time, I said he would set back race relations 50 years.

I underestimated.

Blacks continue to support Barack Obama by overwhelming numbers because it is in their own economic interests to do so. Conversely, perhaps there may be valid reasons why Obama is losing support among whites.

Disagree with the author's conclusions. Blacks support Obama because he is a black Democrat. Blacks have the highest unemployment rates, 16.2% U-3 rates and much higher using U-6 rates. Inner city unemployment is approaching 50%. The rates were much lower under Bush. If the author deems economic interests to be just welfare payments, then he might have a case. I still believe most people prefer a job.

I thought so too until Colonel Allen West came on the scene.
I said to myself there is NO WAY i’d vote for a black guy for dog catcher after watching this marxist fool.
Colonel West would be a fantastic V.P. or Sec. of Def.and eventually President with a little more experience.

The American Thinker article references a piece by Seth Forman in National Review that makes the valid point that Obama's policies have been aimed at benefiting the 'underclass' with a focus on blacks, while the white, middle class pays for them - if they still have a job. Forman concludes that this has generated racial resentments and that whites are feeling discriminated against by their government while their jobs and businesses are being threatened by Obama's redistribution policies. It's an around-about way of saying that Obama's policies are being viewed as racist by whites...the folks who pay the bills in America.

If this analysis is anywhere close to accurate, and I believe it is, Obama is toast in 2012, no matter who the Republican nominee turns out to be. That's something I've believed for some time and why I'm convinced that nominating a conservative Republican candidate for president, one that will govern as a conservative and not immediately be co-opted by the Washington leftist establishment, is crucial. It is why I will support Sarah Palin as the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, if she chooses to run, as I hope she will. We need a real conservative in the White House, not another RINO. The time is now.

It’s not his election that caused any racial divide, it’s Obama’s attitude and that of his followers since the election.

Contrary to the expectations of most pundits, the election of Barack Obama has aggravated the racial divide in America between blacks and all other racial groups.

No one on the right believed that Obama would "heal the racial divide," and Obama's far-left constituency knew it wouldn't because they don't want it healed. They want it exacerbated and widened because it is the source of their power.

The only people who believed this were liberal thumb-suckers and magic thinkers, which catagory includes pretty much every liberal in fantasy world of the main-stream media.

If the author deems economic interests to be just welfare payments, then he might have a case. I still believe most people prefer a job. ..................................................... Can you imagine SEIU trying to organize welfare recipients into a Union and then demand higher payments? There are people out there who make a living out of welfare, its their own private family business and they got it down pat.

I had a completely different view but it turns out you were WAY more correct than I was.

Even though, as a staunch believer in the Founder's wisdom, I found bHo to be a Marxist and a destroyer of the Founders vision, I thought at least the bridge between the races could change from a narrow toll bridge (tolls being reparations) to a strong bridge showing the way that ANYONE of ANY race can reach the top in this country.

I could not have been more wrong on ALL counts other than he is a Marxist. It was based upon Hope and as we have seen, anyone including myself who bought into to that UNDEFINED HOPE was hoodwinked.

This entire administration has not only given the excuse merchants more excuses but given certain minorities cover and in many high profile cases has shown a complete disregard towards any white person in our judicial system.

Now that minorities have discovered the muslime in chief will give them a pass, they have come out of the shadows and fully exposed themselves as the REAL racists in this decade.

While I did not vote for this vile hater of America, I give my full Mea Culpa regarding the prospects of better race relations.

I don’t quite understand your comment as it relates to my post. Alan West and Tim Scott are great black conservatives. They are exceptions when it comes to the overall black population that voted 95% for Obama. In order for Obama to get reelected he must turn out the black vote in large numers and with the same percentages of the vote. He will also try to energize the Hispanic vote that went 65-35 for him. Obama will try to make the 2012 elections about minorities versus the rich, white man dominated GOP.

I support Saracuda for president. If not then either her or COlonel West for Sec. of State. It would be such a change to have an avidly proAmerican there to cheer for our side for a change. Not to mention clean house of oh so many antiAmerican scum in that Dept.
