UNITED NATIONS, July 8 (UPI) -- The Texas execution of a Mexican national puts the United States in violation of international law, the U.N. human rights chief said Friday.
High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said federations like the United States have a responsibility to ensure that individual states "respect the international responsibilities assumed by the country as a whole."
...."I am very disappointed that neither the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles nor the governor took steps open to them to prevent this breach of the U.S. obligations under international law from occurring," Pillay said.

It's interesting that this story uses a picture of Rick Perry and Barack Obama at the memorial at Ft Hood, Texas. There were 43 casualties in the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting. Among the 13 killed were 12 soldiers, one of whom was pregnant, and a single Army civilian employee. Thirty others, including the shooter, were wounded and required hospitalization.
Major Nidal Malik Hasan, MD, a 39-year-old U.S. Army psychiatrist of Palestinian descent, who shouted 'Allahu Akbar' before the massacre, is the sole suspect in the shootings and faces the death penalty in Texas.
U.S. out of the U.N.; U.N. out of the U.S. Problem solved.
You can waltz into the White House by giving Hussein the middle finger....
The majority opinion said, correctly, that the decisions made by whatever international court it was have no parallel in United States Code and are thus not binding.
The UN has allowed far more people to be murdered than Texas will ever execute...
Guess there are very few pictures with both the *culprits* included.
My Wife says if the UN is so damned worried about Mexicans getting executed, they should send peacekeepers to the Mexican side to prevent them from coming here and MURDERING OUR CITIZENS!
I couldn’t agree with you more. Can we get a good bumper sticker for that?
That Perry didn’t acquiesce makes me want to give him a chance to prove he’s not another big Statist RINO when the chips are down.
How long has this guy been on death row? Years, I am sure. You would think the Mexican Consulate would have branch offices in our prisons the way their illegals are filling up the places.
Right! Plus the UN can go #$% itself as far as I’m concerned.
“The UN has allowed far more people to be murdered than Texas will ever execute...”
Most of them are lefties...they lead the league in murders.
More Harvard (of course she went there), ruling-class type rhetoric from people from 3rd World maggot-infested hellholes who excuse every Jihadist Muslim killing, every Genocidal African dictator or Asian repressive regime, but cricize the US for executing a convicted murderer?
F the UN. President Palin, get us OUT of that crappy organization. At a minimum, get it out of the US.
As far as I know Texas is not a UN member. Only the US federa government is a “person” under “international law”.
“U.N. official deplores Texas execution”
America deplores the U.N.
LOve it - how do we get those Blue Hats down there on the Rio Grande?
Better yet, let the UN move to Mexico!
Lets look at the UN and its human rights council....
Then , more recently, the U.N.s Conference on Disarmament is now held by North Korea.
The UN is not even credible, successful in turning itself into a laughing stock...
This scum bag was in this country since he was 2 has spent 13 years on death row, Mexican national should have been shot the day after the trial.
Memo to the UN:
That is all.
It’s my understanding that the United States Senate never ratified the agreement that this goober from the UN is whining about.
He’s to be considered an “undocumented” American in employment and elections but when he rapes and murders a child, he’s a foreign national.
What a system.
When are we going to finally flush the UN out of our national system?
There are plenty of rapists serving within the United Nations. Just follow the “unsexscandals” keyword.
It’s a culture of corruption and positively anti-American.
Har Har Hardee Har Har!
I’m liking Perry more and more, regardless of Gardacil-gate and Texas DREAM Act.
I remember back in the sixties seeing a John Birch Society billboard that had that exact phrase on it. How right they were!
Deplore away, you POS! Talk about the chutzpah of criticizing the spek in your host country’s eye and ignoring the plank in your own.
This UN functionary is a South African who might well spend a bit more time deploring the injustices occurring in her own country and its neighbors. Frankly, I’d like to see the UN relocate to sub Saharan Africa, if only to free up parking space in midtown Manhattan.
.in Islamic countries execute gays and for alleged blasphemy...
the United Nations have protested...?
Time to get rid of the UN and tell all The U.N. Officals to kiss my royal A$$
P-ss on his victim, to hell with her, that’s what this is all about. Pure and simple, p-ss on his victim.
The U.N. Sex Scandal "......Allegations of sexual abuse or misconduct by U.N. staff stretch back at least a decade, to operations in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. A 2001 report, released by the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children, found that sexual violence against refugees in West Africa was endemic (though some of its findings were denied by a subsequent U.N. team). A year later a coalition of religious organizations sent a letter to Secretary of State Colin Powell urging the United States to send more human rights monitors into Congo. The U.N. then introduced a "code of conduct" to help prevent future abuses, including prohibitions against sexual activity between staff and children and the exchange of money or food for sex....."
They are going to push hard on getting that one world government established.
Why don’t y’all send some blue helmets down here to Texas to talk about it? Send lots.
Don’t bother booking return air fare for ‘em...
“U.N. official deplores Texas execution
Really. Well, how about this: FUNP - and, while we’re on topic, FUBO for trying to interfere in matters that are not within your purview as pResident.
All real Texans deplore the UN, hellhole home of brutal tyrants, child molesters and the most corrupt people on the planet. The UN could disappear with all employees in an instant, and we in Texas wouldn’t be phased in the least. FUUN!
July 6, 2011 - AP: LOS ANGELES Texas Gov. Rick Perry ridiculed Washington leadership Thursday on a whirlwind trip through California, positioning himself as a champion of limited government, states' rights and low taxes as he edges toward a decision on whether to enter the 2012 presidential campaign.....On Wednesday in San Diego, Perry called the federal government "rudderless" and said he sees a lack of courage in Washington...."
They should also bring a fresh pair of panties and a shovel. (damned if I’m paying for those)
The obligation of the Governor of Texas is to his CITIZENS, not to an illegal alien rapist and killer. Go screw yourself, UN!!!!
If the Blue Hats come to Texas they will need some replacements pretty damn quickly.

Mike Cahill an army corpsman whom I worked with at Ft. Harrison, Mt was one of those killed at Ft. Hood. I would love to be on the firing squad rendering justice to that @#$$@#..OIF vet
The citizen of Mexico had American lawyers defend him in court and they didn’t inform him of his Mexico citizen rights? Did they even know he was a Mexican citizen? When a person is not an American citizen the country of where they came from is informed right?
His lawyers should have at least informed the Mexican Consulate he was in jail for rape and murder.
Evidently Mexico didn’t care one way or the other about this citizen of theirs or they would have been hollering years ago.
His trial didn’t even make front page of the San Antonio Newspaper. Saw that on the news last night here in San Antonio. He sat for years in prison and could have said something about his rights as a Mexican citizen....evidently he didn’t or he would still be alive.
Well Mexico is getting him back now as he is going there to be buried so says his family.
Perry did the right thing and the President and the UN be damned.
DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS!
Maybe soon it will be
DON’T MESS WITH THE USA!
CW..it’s curious that there is another aspect to this story that has not been mentioned. This was also a stealth attack on the Texas death penalty. Had Perry commuted the death sentence, it would immediately have invalidated the Texas statute. That’s because justice ( the DP) would thus be applied unfairly...IOW, US citizens could be executed in Texas, but foreigners, for the same crime..
And no more talk of this One-World Government BS.
