UNITED NATIONS, July 8 (UPI) -- The Texas execution of a Mexican national puts the United States in violation of international law, the U.N. human rights chief said Friday.

High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said federations like the United States have a responsibility to ensure that individual states "respect the international responsibilities assumed by the country as a whole."

...."I am very disappointed that neither the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles nor the governor took steps open to them to prevent this breach of the U.S. obligations under international law from occurring," Pillay said.

The obligation of the Governor of Texas is to his CITIZENS, not to an illegal alien rapist and killer. Go screw yourself, UN!!!!

Re: Major Nidal Malik Hasan, MD, a 39-year-old U.S. Army psychiatrist of Palestinian descent, who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ before the massacre, is the sole suspect in the shootings and faces the death penalty in Texas.

Mike Cahill an army corpsman whom I worked with at Ft. Harrison, Mt was one of those killed at Ft. Hood. I would love to be on the firing squad rendering justice to that @#$$@#..OIF vet

The citizen of Mexico had American lawyers defend him in court and they didn’t inform him of his Mexico citizen rights? Did they even know he was a Mexican citizen? When a person is not an American citizen the country of where they came from is informed right?

His lawyers should have at least informed the Mexican Consulate he was in jail for rape and murder.

Evidently Mexico didn’t care one way or the other about this citizen of theirs or they would have been hollering years ago.

His trial didn’t even make front page of the San Antonio Newspaper. Saw that on the news last night here in San Antonio. He sat for years in prison and could have said something about his rights as a Mexican citizen....evidently he didn’t or he would still be alive.

Well Mexico is getting him back now as he is going there to be buried so says his family.

Perry did the right thing and the President and the UN be damned.

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS!

Maybe soon it will be

DON’T MESS WITH THE USA!

CW..it’s curious that there is another aspect to this story that has not been mentioned. This was also a stealth attack on the Texas death penalty. Had Perry commuted the death sentence, it would immediately have invalidated the Texas statute. That’s because justice ( the DP) would thus be applied unfairly...IOW, US citizens could be executed in Texas, but foreigners, for the same crime..

And international law is whatever these ass****s decide it is.

I wonder if they care how hated and disrespected they are by the average American who really resents paying for their cushy lifestyles.

What was a ruling by an international court, not Leahy wants it to become U.S. law.

Sen. Leahy introduces Consular Notification Compliance Act ".....What might at first glance appear to be a matter of arcane bureaucratic procedure has become a pressing issue, as Texas is scheduled to execute one of the men desperately in need of protection by the CNCA at the beginning of next month....

......If enacted, the CNCA would not only serve as a meaningful demonstration of the U.S.’s commitment to the rights of foreign prisoners and the larger framework of international law more generally, but would also provide immediate safety benefits to the millions of Americans living abroad......."

The nose in the global government tent and pathway to global courts.

the Saudis just beheaded a poor Indonesian girl working there as a maid who was charged with murder.

The Indonesian gov’t wasn’t allowed to see her “because she already confessed”...

So it’s not just Texas....although in the Indonesian case, the girl had been badly abused and went amok and killed her employer (or maybe someone else killed the employer, and blamed it on her)...
