One of Douchebag Joe's childish and unprofessional outbursts. Yeah Joe, let's get real--raising taxes in a slow growth, high unemployment, no job creation economy is about as dumb as taking up smoking when you're diagnosed with emphasema. The GOPers in the room should have said "You're right Joe. We're getting real by getting the Hell out of here." Crimeny, I'm at the point of saying let these bastards raise all the taxes they want so they can crash the economy even worse than they already have and ensure Obama will never be elected to even anything so much as dog catcher again.

In the end we will get pretend cuts “over a decade” in exchange for the higher debt ceiling.
and the GOP will do a victory dance.

As House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, said today... What happened to Nancy Pelosi?
I thought Hoyer was the Minority Whip?

One of the defining moments in history is Rick Santelli’s rant that led to the Tea Party Movement. If we hadn’t gotten control of the House we would be a serious trouble. As it is, if it wasn’t for the pressure from the American Public ...Republicans would have already caved.

Well meet tomorrow at the White House at 3:45, the president said. A.M. or P.M.? Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., joked. It may come to that, the president said. I still think it's a mistake to bypass the Senate Democrats and take this directly to Obama.
Anything Obama agrees to still has to pass the Senate, which has not even passed its own budget resolution yet.
Furthermore, this just gives Obama another platform to look "presidential" going into the 2012 election. It also gives the MSM another issue to pound Republicans with until they cave in to pressure.
Republicans instead should have put the pressure on Harry Reid to get the Senate to go on record with a budget plan of their own, and continue to make Obama look like the bystander that he really is.

Cantor outlined around $2 trillion in deficit reduction over the next decade: This is his starting point? After the way the Democrats have run up spending, it should be $2 trillion in TWO years!
Unbelievable.

Let’s not pre-judge this. So far they’re holding the line against the media’s bombardment and against the Democrats’ lying demagoguery and “economic armageddon” b.s. spew. Give them some credit for holding up against the onslaught. Let’s see what comes of this before assuming defeat. We shouldn’t get so cynical that we assume we’ll always be betrayed nor that the Democrats will always win. If the GOP holds the line against tax cutting and this is all done by making budget cuts, trust me, their side is not going to be popping any corks. Indeed, their could well be talk on that side of putting Obama through a primary. Buck up.

Let’s remember we don’t control the Senate and White House. Let’s get control of those, then we can talk about bigger things. We can only do what we’re realistically capable of getting done. The rest will come later.

Anything Obama agrees to still has to pass the Senate, which has not even passed its own budget resolution yet.I'm sure there are at least a dozen republican challengers to democrat encumbent senators that would love to see their future opponent twisting in the wind for supporting tax increases.
