Sarah Palin and Rick Perry Ready to Challenge Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney?

By Thomas Costello

July 12, 2011 12:01 PM GMT

Rick Perry could be close to announcing his candidacy for GOP presidential nomination just hours after it was revealed that Sarah Palin could also be ready to announce her nomination for the presidential nomination. The decision from Rick Perry comes off the back of a report that suggests Republican donors are not willing to back Michele Bachmann or Mitt Romney and they want both Sarah Palin and Rick Perry to stand to give the Republican party the greatest chance of beating president Obama in 2012 as well as adding some life into a so far drab nomination campaign.

....Snip....

The field is largely set but for the two headline acts - Rick Perry and Sarah Plain. Both Palin and Perry have indicated over the past few days that they will run for the nomination but have yet to make a formal stand...

Look! In Libtard hackwriter land, every team gets a female conservative and a male RINO. Can't have any truely conservative tickets.

By the inventors of Glee!

I will pass on either of those steaming piles.

This would fly though:

They are assuming that from the recent Newsweek interview.

Nothing new here. Perry is also taking formal steps in preparing to enter the race. Look for Perry to enter it alone.

Remember, this comes from the UK.

Not really, from the body of the article it apppears to be a reference to her Newsweek interview where "she gave the biggest hint yet" that she intends to run.

Thanks for the clarification.

I assumed that the Newsweak article was the basis of their speculation.

At this point they’re all entering alone. No one signs on as a team.

Neither one; the article is speculating that both will seek the GOP presidential nomination.

“Only if Palin is on top.”

Where else? I would have no problem with that, were I Rick Perry. Besides, Alaska’s biggeren’ Texas. And, it would cause so many exploding heads in the obammy media corpse.

RE :"Neither one; the article is speculating that both will seek the GOP presidential nomination"

Thanks, that doesnt seem likely but it would completely change the race to have them both running against each other.

I’m kind of confused about this anyway. They come up with this fantasy scenario of Bachmann running with RINORomney and attack her for it but at the same time they openly support Palin running with another RINO.

Just to see Palin, Bachmann, Cain, and Perry on the same GOP debate stage is a dream come true. Especially when just a few months ago we had nothing but RINOs expressing a desire to run.

Sarah Palin and Rick Perry to stand to give the Republican party the greatest chance of beating president Obama in 2012

While defeating Obama is a given, my purpose in supporting Palin goes beyond that goal. I also want to see the defeat of the political establishment in DC. That whole city stinks to high heaven and I see Sarah Palin as the only one who understands the problem. Going along to get along doesn't work for me and that's what every other GOP candidate represents.

I hope it happens. If Palin and Perry get in, the race takes on a very exciting dynamic.

And with them plus Cain and Bachmann, the rest of the field becomes even more irrelevent than it is now.

I agree with you on Palin, I hope she ends up at the top of the Republican ticket. The only remaining question for me is her running mate. My three favorites are Perry, Cain, and Bachmann, in that order.

The idea of a Palin/Perry ticket intrigues me. It would be two tough conservative governors from our two largest energy producing states. I think that has the making of a powerful and winning advertising campaign!

Why do you keep referring to Perry as CFR boy.

He's not a member, IIRC.

Here is my post explaining my prediction.

To: streetpreacher

Perry gets along well with Palin and they share much of the same views, such as the tenth amendment power to the states. My theory is that she won’t pick someone that offers a win in some state if that person isn’t a team player or from the old school of political thought. My intentions in supporting Palin for president is that she will turn DC upside down. Her VP pick and all the cabinet needs to reflect that way of thinking as there is serious work to be done and we can’t tolerate those who plot behind the scenes to sink her mission. And that is my quick, rambling answer.
