The latest from the Big Labor efforts to strip Republicans of control of the Wisconsin state senate. State labor unions have always been major players in elections here, however, this kind of outside influence on Wisconsin legislative elections is unprecedented. Six million dollars from one interest group for only nine legislative elections? Note thate most of the recalls are not for a month yet, so this totall is sure to increase, perhaps 2-3 times .
[Madison, Wisc ] MNS In the first eight days of July nearly three million dollars has been sent to Wisconsin by national liberal organizations and individuals, with more than two million dollars coming from large national labor unions.
Big Labor has now sent more than six million dollars to finance recall efforts in Wisconsin according to a review of campaign finance reports conducted by the MacIver News Service. The figures only account for disbursements reported to the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board; these organizations do not have to report expenditures made for efforts to communicate with their own membership.
The contributions can come in the form of monetary contributions like wire transfers and checks or in-kind contributions. Wisconsin statutes define in-kind contributions as a disbursement by a contributor to procure a thing of value or service for the benefit of a registrant who authorized the disbursement.
All told, Big Labor has spent more than $6,419,000 in the recall efforts this year, having delivered $2.2 million to the state since July 1.

Worked for that supreme court race.
Why not continue to piss away union cash. I mean, it isnt like their members are spending all day bitching and moaning about how they are suffering from jobs that don’t pay enough.
Apparently they have lots of cash for this.
22 million could pay a lot of their bills.
Well, at least the Wisconsin democrats aren’t running away to another state because they’d lose an impending vote. Wait...what?
How much of the "union cash" is coming direct from the Obama treasury?
How much of the "union cash" is coming direct from the Obama treasury?
Yep, and I bet a lot of that money is “stimulus” funded.
Let’s not forget the $ 5 million they wasted primarying Blanche Lincoln..
Isn’t it fun to watch the final decimation of public employee unions! Other threads posted today indicate that the turnout for the first of the recalls is very light. Not good for the RATs and their union “masters.” And In another thread it was noted that the first effects of the Walker legislation with regard to public employee unions is having a markedly good effect on school districts. Once the electorate sees that this was an extraordinarily good piece of legislation, the RATS will be done for a generation, particularly now that the unions have to go after their dues money on their own. Hopefully this will spread across the country.
It was ONLY PRESSED ONCE!
Public unions must be crushed. They will never give up trying to steal every dime out of our pockets.
I don’t know - I have this hunch - call it a premonition - that these recalls are going down in huge flames for the union goons.
As phrases go, ‘extra virgin’ is right up there with ‘uneasy virtue’!
From your keyboard to God's ears!
My hunch, too.
The Unions Goons -OR- the people of Wisconsin..
Michigan and Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois ARE WATCHING!!
The GOP candidates under recall need to jiu-jitsu this coup attempt: there should be state-wide ads asking whether Wisconsonites want representatives of their state, or representatives owned by the out-of-state union movement - included should be an “odometer” specifying the current level of funds donated by the unions (updated periodically) and a listing of the states from which the union money is coming.
And then it should conclude with a reminder that everytime the viewer sees an ad for a democrat candidate, that ad is running because of additional union money.
Well we know who has all our money.
Every time I hear that phrase, I think: “Can I take your order? And I imagine answering: I’ll have......., and throw in an extra virgin”.
