Texas was ruled by Dems for decades. That Perry was once a Dem ... in Texas ... “don’t mean diddly.”

"Rove you magnificent bastard!"

I never really believed Rove was so forward thinking. Wait until Perry takes office, then Rove's diabolical plan to raise taxes, abortion on demand, open the borders, and destroy the U.S. Constitution, destroy the economy, install Sharia law and install the U.N. as the final authority will finally be complete!

He did not say that. He was misquoted. He said the fedgov ought to get its head out of its ass (in so many words) and then they wouldn’t have to deal with states that want to secede. He never said Texas could secede from the union. So, there’s plenty to hang slick Rick on, but that’s not one of them.

I could go for Rick. I like him better than Mitt I think, but either of them would be willing to take the fight to the enemy. We’d have to ride herd on them like we did with W.

I don’t like him that much, but back in 07-08 he signed off on the business tax, while the state was running a surplus, and I thought that was idiotic, but he proved to be right.

I’d be a hell of a lot more enthusiastic about him than I was about the stain.

He could always explain that statement as his way of defending the Tenth Amendment. He can say the EPA and the rest of the rats are trying to erode his state’s rights.

Obviously the Washington comPost is in Perry’s camp.

That’s all we really need to know; he’s in their globalist pocket.

TMI. NTTAWWT. And maybe “meaty” wasn’t a word you really wanted in this context.

He followed that up by saying they like him ok, but they’re really hoping for someone better, and I think people know that a moderate is going to create a bad potential schism in the party. This is what he who must not be named is counting on.

I just don’t get the disconnect when it comes to Perry. This site is known for bragging about the great state of Texas yet many don’t support the man who governed the state for three terms. They sweat the small stuff. No candidate is 100% perfect. I wish they’d look at the big picture. While I understand immigration is a big issue, show me the candidate who is going to deport all illegals. Even their beloved Sarah won’t do that.

Perry represents a challenge to Palin’s(™)presumptive ascendancy. That's all it takes for a whole bunch of freepers to crap on his lawn.
