Honestly Maryland at this point of disgust I don’t really care if Obama gets another 4 years. The GOP has shown me no reason to believe that they wouldn’t destroy this country too...just a bit slower.
The GOP needs to be gutted and better now than later. I’d be far more positive if I saw a Majority Leader Rubio or a Speaker West and there is NO WAY they ever end up in positions of power within the current GOP without a significant bloodbath in the 2012 elections.

This doesn`t qualify as a “compromise.” This is a total, wave-the-white-flag surrender.

Clue up: the "us" versus "them" at play here isn't "Democrats" versus "Republicans" . . . it's the DC sewer versus the American Taxpayer. The DC idiots can stand there and point their fingers at each other until the cows come home: we taxpayers are still going to have to pay the check.

I have not seen the proposal from McConnell, but my overall impression is that instead of 2.4T in CUTS and 2.4T debt ceiling raise — he’s going to do 700B ceiling raise WITH PROPORTIONAL CUTS and then two 900B raises WITH PROPORTIONAL CUTS.
As long as 300-400B of the cuts are in FY2012, I think this is acceptable.
I sure as hell do. But, if that's how you feel ... stock up on non-perishable food and hard currency. Probably a good supply of wood or coal as well - I hear it get's real cold in Minnesota. All the best to you!
