Oxnard teen, slain in shooting, was allowed to wear women's accessories to school

Larry King's feminine attire was upsetting some of the students and faculty at E.O. Green Junior High in Oxnard.

But there was nothing Assistant Principal Joy Epstein could do about it because King's high-heeled boots, earrings and eye makeup were within the Oxnard school's dress policy, Epstein testified Monday at the murder trial of King's classmate, Brandon McInerney.

..."They said we had to protect his civil rights and his equal rights," Epstein said. "We could not discriminate between a boy or a girl wearing those items to school."

Epstein's testimony came on the fifth day of McInerney's murder trial. The prosecution alleges McInerney, then 14, shot King twice in the head at school in February 2008 because the two had been feuding and McInerney disliked the flamboyant student. Prosecutors say the slaying constituted a hate crime.

The school enabled this kid to the level of obnoxiousness he displayed by asking a straight kid to be his valentine.

If CA fell into the ocean, I would celebrate.

The kid has paid with his life because the adults were too cowardly to set reasonable limits on student behavior.

They'd rather stomp normal human behavior into the dirt than deal with another lawsuit from the ACLU.

If the roles were reversed, this would be a story about Bullying: A troubled child tormented incessantly, whose suffering was advanced by the school authorities until he had no other options to defend himself.

>>> The school enabled this kid to the level of obnoxiousness he displayed by asking a straight kid to be his valentine.

How would any school have been able to stop the party of the first part from asking the party of the second part to be their Valentine. Perhaps a Valentine Police squad?

And couldn’t the party of the second part just say “No thanks”? Most girls manage to to go through life killing very few unwanted suitors. Easier to just shrug them off. And if that doesn’t work, laugh at them till they get the message.

Just wondering.

"King was removed from his parents’ home in late December 2007 for undisclosed reasons"

And he was sent to a homosexual indoctrination camp where he was introduced to cross-dressing. Back at school, one of his teachers gave him a dress. The assistant principal Epstein is a lesbian who supposedly saw it as her project to encourage the child's indoctrination.

The boy claimed to be homo at least as young as 10 years old. The boy's father does not believe that the boy really was homo, but that he liked the attention from the homo claims and behavior. The father blames the shooting on the school's homosexual agenda.

Good article from 2008, here in Newsweek, before the media decided to give this story the "Matthew Shepard" treatment.

The school could have told the kid not to dress like a clown. He behaved the way he did because he decided to act out a role. Unfortunately he picked on the wrong kid to bully.

Larry King was a freak, a bully, and a moron. Brandon McInerney is an oversensitive murderer and deserves to be convicted of the appropriate felony. Larry King's parents are incompetent to raise goldfish, and I hope they spend the rest of their lives feeling guilty for having raised their son to be selfish, cruel, and a loser, and that they find a positive outlet for that guilt. There are not many winners in this whole situation, including a sad number of those who post here on FR.

I grew up in an era, not THAT long ago:), where there was no such thing as “gay teens.” We were barely, only furtively, aware of what sex was about and that was definitely heterosexual. We joked about “queer Thursday” (don’t wear purple) and no one was offended.

Now, you hear about special clubs for gay teens WITHIN the high schools. This is so weird, to recognize perverted sex practices before kids even know about normal ones, that I cannot wrap my mind around it.

And yet, I do not see any organized protest from parents that their children are exposed to this.

I guess this is called the decline of a civilization.

Accessories apparently did not include a bullet proof vest.
