Paul Ryan Schools HHS Secretary on Patient-Centered Medicare Reform
Heritage.org ^ | 7/12/11 | Kathryn Nix

Posted on 07/12/2011 4:44:02 PM PDT by Nachum

This morning, the House Budget Committee invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to a hearing on the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), the left’s weapon of choice for tackling Medicare’s $38 trillion in unfunded promises to America’s seniors.

Both sides of the debate agree that extensive reductions to Medicare’s runaway spending are needed, and have even proposed comparable targets for growth in spending. The key difference, then lies in who makes the difficult decisions regarding seniors’ health care under the chosen direction for reform: Patients, or bureaucrats?

Sec. Sebelius argued that IPAB, a board of unelected officials tasked with reducing cost growth in Medicare without congressional approval, would reduce spending by embracing better payment strategies. This method is vague, at best, and what’s more, has been tried time and again, to no avail. The truth is that the most likely way the IPAB will enforce Medicare’s new spending cap is through provider payment reductions, reducing seniors’ access to care. As more providers decline to participate in the Medicare program, seniors will face longer waits for the care they need, experiencing the ugly consequences of top-down rationing of care.

Yep, like telling Docs they will only recieve 30% payment on Medicare. Docs will not treat any Medicare Patients. The Dummies want to get rid of the seniors. Don’t like people that aren’t fully brainwashed into the commie/fascist/progressive/Dum propaganda.

I do not understand why challenges to Obamacare did not include the Death Panel.

Force Leftist Judges to explain where ANY government bureaucrat got the legitimate power to determine who lives and who dies.

Is this America? What happened?

Paul Ryan—whom the Left is demonizing all over the place—is compassionate and makes sense. His plan is not much different from that of Regina Herlinger (Harvard Business School) the “godmother” of consumer driven health care.

In contrast, Kathleen Sibelius is an EVIL WITCH!!!! And she, Berwick, Little Tommy Daschle, Ezekiel Emanuel, obama, etc.,—the designers of DeathCare and the IPAB—are peas in the same evil pod!!!! They want to save money by killing people they consider “undesirable”, just like the Nazis and Stalinists!!!!

Very worth watching.

Especially if you catch the condescending look Ryan gets from madame Secretary. It happens really fast, and maybe I got it wrong, but I felt like she needed a 2 x 4 across the chops. Frankly, folks, a year of.......................... .............................................................will not end this madness. remaining comments self censored.

Arizona’s Goldwater Institute HAS been challenging the death panel.

http://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/article/5948

http://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/CoonsvGeithner

But they’re the ONLY ones!!!! WHY?

Arizona is the “Resistance State”—the Serbia of America! That is why obama and his vile minions are so enraged against Arizona. It’s not just about immigration.

But like Serbia, Arizona has been faltering lately. Arizona, a relatively small state, can’t do it alone!!!! Many states need to challenge the death panel, as well as illegal immigration and the obama dictatorship’s entire package of demographic engineering and tyranny!!!!

The Supreme Court happened in 1973.

The Senate version of ZeroCare had a provision that specialists get paid the same as generalists. When I told my nephrologist that, he said he would be quitting medicine before that could happen. He’s an outstanding doctor - and most of his payments come from Medicare due to a huge loophole in the law.

My doctor recently closed his (very successful) practice because he could see the effects of Obamacare coming down the road.

Can you imagine the sticker shock if Zero gets the Repubs to cave on taxes (get the rope). And then come 2013 (?) the Obamacare fees and taxes kick in. OH MY.

They are counting on Americans forgeting about all the Obamacare costs to taxpayers.

What gets me all the “free” health care types just don’t get it. What good is “free” healthcare if there are no Docs to take care of you.

I was at my Cardiologist office and happen to mention the high cost of Premiums. (before O-care passed). A man sitting in the WR said well I want o-care to pass so my $1000 per month premium will go down. I thought boy are you in for a surprise.

I wonder how many people are reeling from the REAL costs and the coming taxes and fees. Then turning Docs into nothing but script writers, due to bureacrats deciding our healthcare choices. Then, the young people today will not get choices of hospitals. Only the elitists will have access to top Hospitals and Docs. The rest will take what they can get. Sort of like the Soviet System.
